New TBR Yarn Production Project Nears Completion in Iran

The completion of a strategic TBR yarn manufacturing project in Zanjan Province is set for next year, significantly enhancing Iran’s capabilities in producing tires for heavy-duty vehicles.

This initiative addresses a critical industry need by supplying essential materials for truck and bus radial (TBR) tires, widely used in heavy commercial transportation, construction, and mining sectors. TBR yarn, a key component in tire cord fabric, ensures durability, dimensional stability, and safety under rigorous operating conditions.

The project aligns with the government’s broader strategic plan to support and stimulate local manufacturing industries. Recent government initiatives, including favorable repayment terms, debt restructuring, and financial incentives, have been implemented to mitigate challenges faced by local manufacturers due to recent energy constraints and production slowdowns.

Furthermore, significant improvements have been introduced to simplify machinery import processes, thereby removing previous barriers and boosting industrial productivity and growth.

An allocation of approximately USD 6 billion has been announced to address the financial and resource requirements of industrial operators, facilitating smoother operations and fostering a more robust manufacturing sector.

Upon completion, the Zanjan TBR yarn project is expected to play a vital role in reducing dependency on imports, stabilizing the supply chain, and providing substantial economic benefits, including job creation and increased industrial output within the region.

This development marks an important step toward bolstering the domestic tire industry, reinforcing economic self-sufficiency, and enhancing the competitive positioning of Iranian-made products in regional and international markets.
