Reju, the textile-to-textile regeneration company, has announced the site selection for its first U.S.-based industrial-scale facility, marking a major milestone in its global expansion strategy. The future Regeneration Hub will be located in Rochester, New York, reinforcing Reju’s commitment to accelerating the adoption of circular textile systems across key international markets.
Scaling Circularity in the United States
The new Reju site will span 18.9 acres at Eastman Business Park and is designed to regenerate the equivalent of 300 million textile articles per year that would otherwise become waste. The facility will produce rBHET, which will then be repolymerized into Reju PET, supporting large-scale textile-to-textile recycling while enabling near-shoring and diversification of manufacturing.
The project remains subject to final investment approval by the board of Technip Energies, Reju’s parent company.
“As our first Regeneration Hub in the United States, this site selection is a major leap forward in building a truly global circular system,” said Patrik Frisk, CEO of Reju. “We are proud to bring Reju’s sustainable manufacturing and new jobs to the Rochester community.”
The U.S. hub will complement Reju’s growing international network, including Regeneration Hub Zero currently operating in Frankfurt, and Regeneration Hub One at the Chemelot Industrial Park in Sittard, Netherlands, announced earlier this year.
Advanced Recycling Technology and Economic Impact
Reju’s regeneration process is powered by proprietary recycling technology developed by Technip Energies and IBM Research, enabling the transformation of post-consumer textile waste—starting with polyester—into high-quality regenerated polyester. According to the company, Reju Polyester has a 50% lower carbon footprint than virgin polyester and is designed for multiple recycling cycles, reducing long-term dependence on fossil-based raw materials.
New York State officials welcomed the investment, highlighting its role in job creation and sustainability. Governor Kathy Hochul said the project is expected to generate approximately 70 new jobs at Eastman Business Park and demonstrates how innovation can convert waste streams into economic opportunity.

“Kodak is thrilled to welcome Reju to Eastman Business Park,” said Jim Moran, President of Kodak’s EBP. “We look forward to supporting Reju’s mission to build a system where textile waste no longer exists.”
Strengthening a Global Circular Textile Network
Through partnerships with global brands, mills, and waste aggregators, Reju aims to ensure full textile-to-textile traceability, transforming garments destined for landfill or incineration into raw material for new production.
“The U.S. Regeneration Hub strengthens our footprint and signals that circularity at scale is achievable,” Frisk added. “Reju is investing in a future where post-consumer textile waste becomes a resource, not a liability.”
With the Rochester project, Reju takes a decisive step toward building a globally interconnected circular textile economy, positioning the United States as a key pillar in its long-term sustainability roadmap.
