The Textile and Clothing Industry faces constant challenges driven by innovation, technology, sustainability and expansion into international markets. In this context, the first edition of Mod’Unica, scheduled for 26 and 27 February at Exponor’s Pavilion 1, brings together different players in the sector on one stage for two days of sharing knowledge and strategies to help shape the future of the sector.
The first day will feature talks on Sustainability and the Circular Economy, led by AE Minho and Susana Serrano, CEO of Circular Strategy, as well as Artificial Intelligence and Automation in Industry. The progress and impact of the RDC@ITV, Waste2BioComp, DIGI4FASHION and TEXAD projects will also be highlighted. The day will close with the launch of the book ‘Happiness is Profitable’ by Ricardo Costa, with an autograph session.
On the second day, the programme includes contributions from Daniel Agis, Pedro Garcia from MAAB Consulting and Elsa DionÃsio from Fashion Business Management. Also on the agenda are presentations on Internationalisation Strategies and Expansion into New Markets and Essential Skills for Facing Sustainability Challenges, the latter with the support of MODATEX training centre. Academics will also be present, with the University of Beira Interior (UBI) sharing its vision on New Skills for the Fashion Ecosystem. Also on stage will be the debate entitled ‘Knowing in order to value: the Textile Waste Observatory’ organised by ORT and the study ‘The socio-economic impact of the second-hand clothing sector in the EU and Africa’, presented by Humana Portugal. Last but not least, the talks organised by the international projects RESOTEX, Metaskills4TCLF and VETRINE.
It should be noted that Mod’Unica is an event organised by ATP – Associação Têxtil e Vestuário de Portugal with the support of Spormex Events, and this full programme of talks serves to affirm its commitment to companies in the sector so that they remain up-to-date, competitive and resilient.
The fair also holds the added importance of promoting Made in Portugal, a sustainable and innovative hub capable of producing as well as creating. At the same time, this continuation of Modtissimo’s legacy aims to perpetuate the fostering of collaborations between the different players in a more comprehensive way, bringing together technical textiles, home textiles and decorative textiles – a fair of everyone and for everyone! Visiting the show is free, as is attending all the sessions.
