Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul (MBFWI)

The official dates of the 15th season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul (MBFWI) are announced. The event will take place on October 12-16 with the support of Türkiye Promotion Group (TTG), on international digital platforms.

The virtual event space will feature designer labels and designers that will present their collections in digital format. The event calendar will also include virtual showrooms, panel sessions, podcasts and multidisciplinary collaborations.

As the rules of the fashion industry are addressed on a global scale, priorities and expectations are redefined, and alternative fashion week calendars and contents continue to be announced in the post-COVID-19 period, MBFWI will also welcome genderless collections this season in addition to womenswear and menswear collections, which have been presented within the same calendar since the very beginning of the event.

Embracing change and innovation, and taking ownership of its future with a view to the sustainability of the industry, MBFWI will provide a creative season-free platform where the in-season collections will be presented to the end consumer along with Spring-Summer 2021 and Fall-Winter 2020/21 collections. As always, MBFWI will enable industry professionals to explore the designs of the upcoming seasons. MBFWI will also open its doors to designer labels and designers that wish to present designs for different seasons within the same collection.

Runway shoots of the digital event with more than 30 designers will take place at Galataport İstanbul and Tophane-i Amire Culture and Arts Center. This will enable the cultural and historical heritage of Istanbul to be promoted on global fashion platforms throughout the digital fashion week.

The MBFWI Organization Committee believes that the digital fashion week extends beyond borders for both the participants and the viewers, and offers a free and creative platform and the opportunity to appeal to wider audiences. The Committee will soon announce the latest developments about the event.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul is organized by Istanbul Ready-Made Garment and Apparel Exporters’ Association (IHKIB), and endorsed by Türkiye Promotion Group (TTG), which is founded pursuant to the Turkish Ministry of Trade legislation within the body of Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), as well as Fashion Designers Association (MTD), United Brands Association (BMD), and Istanbul Moda Academy (IMA).
