Jordanian Designer Launches Collection with Rihanna

The Romanian-Jordanian Textile and fashion designer Amina Muaddi created a second collection in partnership with Fenty, a brand of singer Rihanna. The shoes are extravagant, have moorings and striking colours.

São Paulo – Romanian-Jordanian fashion designer Amina Muaddi launched her second collection of women’s shoes in collaboration with singer Rihanna’s brand, Fenty, on Thursday (12), according to news published on the website of the Saudi newspaper Arab News.

The new Fenty x Amina Muaddi collection is called 11-20. Pictured above are Amina (left) and Rihanna (centre).

The collection features shoes with a square tip and ankle strap, sandals to tie around the leg, as well as corset shoes, which are those that resemble the garment and bring an interlacing of straps. The models developed to reflect the flashy style characteristic of the celebrity born in Barbados.

The collection boasts striking colours, such as electric blue, hot pink, coconut white and black. The heels are thin and do not follow Amina’s wide heel style, as they were specifically designed for Fendy. Rihanna’s brand is known for its cosmetics, found in major stores in the sector, but it also includes other products.

The singer and the Romanian-Jordanian stylist launched the first collection together in July this year also with very striking shoe models. The success of this partnership earned them the FN Achievement Award, from the footwear sector, in the “Collab” category, which will be delivered in December.

Jordan’s Textile & Apparel Industry: Small But Significant

Rihanna is a longtime fan of Amina’s shoes. The designer launched a line of shoes with her own name two years ago, after leaving the luxury shoe brand Oscar Tiye, where she was co-founder and creative director. Amina grew up between Jordan, Romania and Italy and as a stylist, she mixes glamour, crafts and modernity. She was born in Romania but is the daughter of a Jordanian father.

Amina studied design, as well as learning about shoemaking in Italy. She worked as a stylist for magazines and fashion brands. At the end of 2019, Amina was called by Rihanna to design the Fenty brand shoes.
