As the textile industry seeks to reduce its environmental footprint, EverDye has secured two major recognitions. The company has obtained ZDHC certification and is among the 20 start-ups selected by CEMATEX, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers, for the CEMATEX Start-Up Grant. It will present its innovations at Start-Up Valley during ITMA 2027 in Hanover, Germany.
Founded in 2021, EverDye develops a bio-based pigment dyeing process that operates at room temperature with low energy consumption. According to the company, the process can reduce CO₂ emissions by 90% and cut energy consumption by up to eight times compared with conventional dyeing processes.
The company was founded by materials chemist Dr Amira Erokh, whose vision led to the development of an alternative approach to existing dyeing methods.
ZDHC Recognition Supports Safer Chemical Management
ZDHC, or Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals, is a global initiative aimed at eliminating hazardous chemical substances from the textile and leather industries. The certification confirms the conformity of a chemical product with the Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL), which identifies substances that are prohibited or restricted during manufacturing.
For EverDye, whose bio-based pigments are specifically designed to reduce chemical residues, the recognition validates the consistency of its technological approach.
“The ZDHC certification confirms that we can change the way textiles are dyed without compromising chemical management. At EverDye, we want to support a profound transformation of the industry towards a more responsible model, starting with dyeing.
This recognition gives brands and manufacturers a concrete guarantee when choosing to work with us,” said Amira Erokh, Founder of EverDye.
EverDye’s process is based on green chemistry and molecular affinity: the pigment acts almost like a magnet, anchoring to the fibre more quickly and durably. Instead of long treatments at high temperatures, dyeing takes place rapidly at room temperature.
The company says this simplified approach provides three major advantages: lower water and energy consumption, fewer chemical residues, and richer, more durable colours.
EverDye Selected for CEMATEX Start-Up Grant
EverDye is among the 20 start-ups selected by CEMATEX for the CEMATEX Start-Up Grant. The selection places the company among emerging textile and garment innovators preparing to showcase their technologies at ITMA 2027.
EverDye joins the Colourants & Chemicals category alongside start-ups working across fibres, recycling, testing and automation.
Its participation in Start-Up Valley during ITMA 2027 in Hanover will be fully funded by CEMATEX. ITMA, widely regarded as one of the world’s most important textile and garment technology exhibitions, brings together machinery manufacturers, brands, investors, research organisations and technology partners every four years.
For EverDye, the event will provide an international platform to present its bio-based dyeing process directly to companies and partners capable of supporting its adoption on an industrial scale.
Two Recognitions Support the Same Direction
With ZDHC recognition on one side and CEMATEX selection on the other, EverDye has gained validation for both the chemical-management aspect of its technology and its potential for industrial development.
In a textile sector where dyeing accounts for significant water, energy and chemical use, the company believes these two developments strengthen the case for lower-carbon dyeing technologies as a credible alternative to conventional processes.
“Colour should no longer come with a hidden cost for the planet. These recognitions tell us that the industry is ready to move from commitment to action, and we are ready to contribute,” said Philippe Berlan, CEO of EverDye.
