ERCA S.p.A. Secures ISCC PLUS Certification for REVECOL

ERCA S.p.A., a leader in chemical innovation, exclusive manufacturer of REVECOLĀ®, brand owned by ERCA Textile Chemical Solutions (ERCA TCS) an independent company within the same group, specialized in supplying chemical solutions for the textile industry is proud to announce its transition to ISCC PLUS certification (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification), confirming its ongoing commitment to bioeconomy and circular economy practices and certified innovation.

This strategic decision comes in response to recent discussions within industry, including the potential shift by Textile Exchange toward certifying only fiber content — a move that no longer aligns with ERCA TCS’s integrated sustainability approach. The company has therefore moved to ISCC PLUS: a globally recognized certification system that ensures the traceability and transparency of bio-circular, bio-based, and recycled feedstocks across the value chain.

The process began with REVECOLĀ® by ERCA TCS at the production site of ERCA SPA. With our new ISCC PLUS certification, which now represents another milestone in the industry, we are strengthening ERCA TCS’s leading position in the field of certified bio-circular chemistry.

Certified auxiliaries for the textile industry

ERCA is proud to be the first and only company worldwide to certify under ISCC PLUS the output category: ā€œAuxiliaries for the textile industry – Vegetable Oil Ethoxylates, Alkylamide–Bio-Circularā€. These products, especially developed for the REVECOLĀ® brand are linked to upcycled raw materials such as biocircular Vegetable Cooking Oil (UCO), under the mass balance approach, represent decisive achievement in green chemistry.

Why ISCC PLUS?

ISCC PLUS provides:

  • Ā Independent third-party verification
  • Ā A robust mass balance approach for tracking bio-circular and recycled feedstocks
  • Ā Alignment with the major number of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • Ā Enhanced transparency and credibility for clients and stakeholders

By adopting this certification, ERCA aims to:

  • Ā Reduce its carbon footprint
  • Ā Increase traceability throughout its supply chain
  • Ā Strengthen its ESG positioning
  • Support customers in meeting their sustainability targets

With this step, ERCA S.p.A. and ERCA TCS once again demonstrate their pioneering role in the sector, offering innovative and certified products that anticipate the market’s future needs.

What’s REVECOLĀ® by ERCA TCS?

REVECOLĀ® is a 100% Made in Italy breakthrough industry innovation that upcycles critical waste material such as vegetable exhausted cooking oil, into a complete, safe, certified, market competitive, high performing new generation line of chemical auxiliaries for the whole textile industry. The current range includes 20 new generation chemical auxiliaries, and for all of them REVECOLĀ® got the most important certifications: ISCC PLUS, ZDHC Chemical Gateway, bluesignĀ®, GOTS. In particular, with the support and analysis of bluesignĀ® Academy ERCA TCS is creating, where possible, the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) for some REVECOLĀ® products, certifying the reduction of CO2 emissions compared to the use of conventional chemistry. From the first results of this work, we see a CO2 reduction that goes from 30% to 72%!
