BTC Showcases Benin’s Cotton-to-Fashion Strength with Sustainable, Vertically Integrated Apparel Production

Benin Textile Company (BTC) is redefining Africa’s role in the global apparel supply chain with its state-of-the-art, vertically integrated mill that transforms locally grown, traceable cotton into high-quality knit garments for international brands and retailers.
Supported by the Arise Group, a leading Pan-African industrial ecosystem developer operating across 12 countries, BTC combines world-class technology with sustainability-driven production processes to establish Benin as a competitive “farm-to-fashion” origin in West Africa.

From Cotton to Clothing

Benin, one of Africa’s top cotton producers with more than 637,000 tons harvested in 2024, provides BTC with an abundant and traceable raw material base (CMiA and Organic certified). At BTC, this cotton is spun into yarns (10’s to 45’s), knitted into fabrics including Single Jersey, Pique, Fleece, Terry, and Ribs, and crafted into a wide range of garments such as T-shirts, polos, hoodies, jackets, bottoms, sleepwear, and underwear.

Complementing its production, BTC offers value-added services including yarn dyeing, printing, embroidery, and laundry—delivering a complete package of quality, speed, and sustainability at competitive cost.

Proudly Made in Benin

With more than 2,000 Beninese employees, BTC is not only producing apparel but also contributing to local industrialization, job creation, and skills development. Every day, these workers bring passion and expertise to elevate the “Made in Benin” label on the global stage.

On July 26, BTC hosted its Performance Recognition Ceremony, honoring outstanding employees with certificates and symbolic gifts. This monthly tradition celebrates dedication, inspires excellence, and strengthens a shared vision for the future of African textiles.

A New Chapter for African Industrialization

“From field to fabric to fashion, Africa is writing a new story—one where value is built locally, sustainability is central, and garments proudly carry the mark of Benin,” the company stated.

With its integrated operations, strong logistics, and commitment to sustainability, BTC is positioning Benin as a reliable supply base for global fashion brands seeking speed, quality, and ethically produced apparel.

Celebrating excellence, together — BTC stands as a symbol of West Africa’s potential in the global textile industry.
