Bangladeshi textile researchers gathered in AUTEX 2019 world textile conference

AUTEX World Textile Conference is an annual international conference by Association of universities for Textile (AUTEX) where the latest developments in the textile area are highlighted.

It brings textile researchers together from all over the world. This year, the AUTEX 2019 Conference held in GENT (Ghent), Belgium organized by the Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering (MaTCh) from Ghent University.

The venue was the NH Gent Belfort Hotel (downtown) for the whole duration of the event from 11 to 15 June 2019. At the same time, AUTEX celebrated its 25th anniversary and “Textiles” at Ghent University for an impressive 90 years.

More than 300 researchers from 40 different countries attended the conference. Bangladeshi textile researchers working on the advancement of textile processes as well as functional and smart textile materials gathered during this conference.

Among them Dr. Mohammad Azam Ali, Senior Lecturer and Director-Bioengineering Academic Program at the Department of Applied Sciences, University of Otago, New Zealand; Mohammad Tajul Islam, assistant Professor at Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology and currently Doctoral candidate at Department of Applied Sciences, University of Otago, New Zealand), Md Abdullah Al Faruque, Assistant Professor at Bangladesh University of Textiles, Currently Doctoral candidate at Institute for Frontier Materials (IFM) in Deakin University, Australia; Muzahidur Rahman Chowdhury, Senior lecturer at department of textile engineering, Southeast University; Ashik Md Faisal, Doctoral research fellow at DISAT – Department of Applied Science and Technology, Politecnico di Torino, Italy; Tuser Biswas, PhD candidate at Textile Materials Technology in the Swedish School of Textiles at the University of Borås, Sweden, and Mohammad Neaz Morshed, Champion, Textile Talent Hunt 2013-2014 and currently Doctoral researcher at Textile Materials Technology in the Swedish School of Textiles at the University of Borås, Sweden were present.

The next AUTEX 2020 World textile conference will be held in the University of Minho, Portugal.
