Vietnam’s Textile Industry at a Turning Point
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Bùi Quang Hưng emphasized the growing importance of the textile and garment sector in Vietnam’s economy.
The industry currently accounts for 12–16% of the country’s total export turnover, with exports reaching approximately $46 billion, marking a 5% year-on-year increase.
However, the sector faces increasing pressure from global challenges, including stricter environmental regulations, traceability requirements, and the need for digital transformation.
Vietnam is now entering a new phase of development, shifting:
- From volume-driven to value-added production
- From contract manufacturing to higher-value segments
- From traditional operations to green and smart manufacturing
Innovation, Sustainability, and Digitalization at the Core
VIATT 2026 reflects these shifts through dedicated exhibition zones focusing on sustainability and innovation.
Highlights include:
- VIATT Trend Forum, offering insights into emerging design and material trends
- Sustainability-focused exhibits showcasing eco-friendly materials and certified production processes
- The Innovation and Digital Solutions Zone, featuring technologies such as AI-based design simulation, automated fabric inspection systems, and advanced manufacturing solutions
An AI Design Laboratory further demonstrates how digital tools are transforming textile development, enabling faster design cycles and improved quality control.
A Strategic Platform for Global Collaboration
Running until February 28, the exhibition serves as a critical meeting point for manufacturers, brands, and technology providers seeking to strengthen partnerships and explore new market opportunities.
VIATT 2026 also plays a strategic role in encouraging technology transfer, supply chain integration, and investment in domestic raw material production, supporting Vietnam’s ambition to deepen its position within global textile value chains.
As the industry navigates a rapidly evolving landscape, the exhibition highlights the importance of collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in shaping the future of textile manufacturing.
