Saurer Technologies Twisting Solutions took part in the International Carpet and Flooring Expo (ICFE 2026), held from January 6–9 at the Istanbul Expo Center, where the company introduced its latest twisting technology for carpet yarn applications at Hall 3, Booth 300.
The new solution, designed to enhance yarn quality consistency, production efficiency, and energy performance, attracted significant attention from carpet manufacturers from Türkiye as well as visitors from the Middle East, Africa, and other international markets. Despite the current challenges facing the global carpet sector, the level of professional interest demonstrated at Saurer’s stand highlighted the industry’s continued focus on technological upgrading.
Industry Leaders Highlight Innovation and Regional Growth Potential at ICFE 2026
In an interview with Behnam Ghasemi Editor in chief at Kohan Textile journal, Gerd Pohlmann, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Saurer Technologies, also highlighted that although the global carpet sector is currently going through a demanding phase, the interest shown at ICFE 2026 confirms that manufacturers are actively seeking reliable, future-oriented technologies. According to him, innovation remains a key driver for resilience and long-term growth in the carpet industry.
Hakan Sabaz, representing Ikiler Tekstil Mümessillik ve Tic. A.Ş., Saurer’s official representative in Turkey, noted that ICFE 2026 was held during a period when the carpet industry is not experiencing a strong growth cycle. However, he emphasized that the overall visitor quality and technical discussions exceeded expectations, showing that manufacturers remain committed to investing in innovation and advanced machinery to maintain competitiveness.
From a broader regional perspective, Nayla El Tawil, Owner and President of Nobeltex, underlined that Saurer’s participation with a newly developed machine clearly reflects the importance of the Middle East and Africa for the company. She pointed out that the carpet and flooring industry in the region continues to show strong long-term potential, adding that Egypt is emerging as a particularly promising market, supported by new investments and expanding production capacities.
