Saurer presented its integrated spinning, twisting, automation and digitalisation portfolio at NasTex 2026 in Damascus, supporting discussions around the modernisation and future development of Syria’s textile manufacturing industry.
The international textile machinery group participated in the exhibition through its representative, Chahin Brothers Co., which welcomed textile manufacturers and industry professionals at Booth A19 in Hall 26.
NasTex 2026, the Syria International Textile Expo, was held from 18 to 21 July 2026 at the Damascus Fairgrounds. The event brought together more than 300 companies and participants from over 25 countries, creating a meeting point for textile manufacturers, machinery suppliers, technology providers, investors and government representatives.
Saurer Strengthens Its Presence in the Syrian Textile Market

Saurer blowroom technology was presented as the first stage of an integrated spinning process, supporting the efficient opening, cleaning and blending of textile fibres before carding.
The company’s blowroom portfolio is designed to prepare different fibre materials for subsequent production stages while supporting fibre utilisation, production consistency and yarn quality.
Autocard SC 8 Carding Technology
The Autocard SC 8 was among the main spinning preparation technologies highlighted at the exhibition.
Saurer describes the third-generation card as a solution developed to improve fibre utilisation, sliver quality and spinning efficiency. The machine features a maximum carding area of 4.8 square metres and is suitable for natural, man-made, recycled and regenerated short fibres.
Its intelligent process controls and digital capabilities are designed to help spinning mills adjust production parameters, reduce raw-material waste and improve operational performance.
Zinser 51 Ring-Spinning Machine
The Zinser 51 represented Saurer’s ring-spinning technology at NasTex 2026.
The machine is designed for flexible yarn production while focusing on spinning economics, automation, energy management and consistent yarn quality. It can be integrated with different automation concepts according to the production requirements of individual spinning mills.

Autocoro 11 Automatic Rotor Spinning

BD 8 Semi-Automatic Rotor Spinning
The BD 8 was presented as Saurer’s semi-automatic rotor-spinning solution for mills seeking flexibility, reliable production and a gradual transition toward higher levels of automation.
The machine is designed for a broad range of yarn applications and incorporates technologies developed through Saurer’s experience in rotor spinning.
Its modular automation features can help spinning mills improve package handling, reduce operator workload and increase production efficiency without immediately moving to a fully automatic rotor-spinning system.
CompactTwister for Yarn Twisting
The CompactTwister completed the product portfolio highlighted at the Saurer presentation.
This two-for-one twisting machine is designed to combine yarn quality, production flexibility, energy efficiency and ease of operation. The latest generation includes central machine settings and electronically controlled functions intended to reduce adjustment time and support consistent package quality.
Twisting remains an essential stage for many apparel, home textile and technical textile applications, particularly where yarn strength, appearance and downstream performance are important.
