The Turkish manufacturer joined an official trade delegation to Kampala to explore opportunities in military uniforms, protective clothing and security equipment.
Turkish military clothing and equipment manufacturer Raff Military Textile has taken another step in its African expansion strategy following its participation in an official trade delegation to Kampala, Uganda.
The delegation was organised by the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) under the coordination of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Trade. The official programme took place from 20 to 24 July 2026 and brought together Turkish exporters and Ugandan businesses for bilateral meetings and partnership discussions.
Raff Military Textile was represented by CEO Eray Yükseloğlu and members of the company’s management team.
Meetings Focus on Defence and Security Textiles
During the Kampala programme, Raff Military Textile held meetings to evaluate potential cooperation in Uganda’s defence and security sectors.
Discussions focused on the company’s capabilities in specialised military textiles, police uniforms, protective clothing, tactical accessories and anti-riot equipment.
The company also presented solutions that can be adapted to local operational conditions and the requirements of military, police and other institutional customers.
Raff Military Textile said the meetings provided an initial framework for developing commercial cooperation between the company and potential partners in Uganda.
Uganda Offers Gateway to East African Market
Uganda is becoming an increasingly important market for international manufacturers seeking access to East Africa.
Ahead of the delegation, YĂĽkseloÄźlu described Uganda as a potential entry point to the region and highlighted opportunities for long-term partnerships, local manufacturing and joint ventures with Ugandan businesses.
The country has been encouraging investment in domestic production as part of its strategy to reduce imports, develop industrial capabilities and create employment.
This approach could create opportunities for international suppliers that are prepared to combine product exports with technology transfer, training, local partnerships or future manufacturing investment.

Raff Military Textile Expands African Network
Africa remains an important market for Raff Military Textile, which manufactures and supplies military uniforms, police clothing, protective equipment, boots and tactical accessories.
The company serves institutional and defence-sector customers across numerous international markets. Its participation in the Uganda mission is intended to expand that network and identify new commercial opportunities in East Africa.
According to Raff Military Textile, discussions held in Kampala produced several potential business opportunities that will be followed up in the coming months.
The company plans to maintain communication with Ugandan counterparts and explore how the initial meetings can be converted into longer-term supply agreements or industrial cooperation.
TĂĽrkiye and Uganda Strengthen Commercial Relations
The visit also formed part of wider efforts to strengthen economic relations between TĂĽrkiye and Uganda.
During the delegation, representatives of Turkish companies from different sectors participated in business-to-business meetings with Ugandan companies. TİM reported that the programme generated hundreds of bilateral business discussions.
Official trade missions provide Turkish manufacturers with opportunities to assess local market requirements, identify distributors and meet potential investment partners with government support.
For Uganda, closer engagement with Turkish companies may support its goals of attracting industrial expertise, increasing domestic production and developing new commercial partnerships.
Raff Military Textile’s participation demonstrates how specialised textile companies are using official trade platforms to access new African markets and establish direct relationships with local stakeholders.
Following the Kampala meetings, the company said it remains optimistic about developing its presence in Uganda and expanding future cooperation across East Africa.
