Plastic Packaging Market Size Forecasting

Packaging industry, as an industry with trillion-level income scale, has become an important industry in the development of China’s national economy. At present, product packaging has been gradually upgraded from the subsidiary components of commodities to an important part of commodities, packaging industry has also formed a decentralized industry to paper, plastics, metals, glass, cork, special equipment as the main products of the industrial system. From the perspective of industry structure, paper packaging, plastic packaging is the main sub-industry in China’s packaging industry.

The use of plastic products in packaging began in the 1930s, when Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) invented polyethylene (PE), mainly for plastic film packaging, and later derived low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE), which were mainly used in plastic containers.

After World War II, polypropylene (PP) and polyphenyl xylene glycol lipids (PET) have been successfully developed, PP is widely used in automobiles, household appliances, plastic pipes, furniture packaging, PET is mainly used in beverage bottles and packaging films. With the continuous development of production technology, more and more types of plastic packaging materials, the application range is more and more extensive.

Because of its advantages of a lightweight, good electrical insulation, permeable water, breathable, good chemical stability, strong plasticity and so on, plastic packaging has now become a very promising sub-industry in the packaging industry and has been widely used in beverages, condiments, daily necessities, cooking oil, alcohol, leisure food and pharmaceutical and other fields.
