CAITME 2028 Returns to Tashkent as Central Asia’s Textile Machinery Hub

CAITME 2028 – the 18th Central Asian International Textile Machinery Exhibition – will return to the Uzexpocentre NEC in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 6–8 September 2028, bringing global textile machinery manufacturers and technology suppliers together with producers, investors and decision-makers from across Central Asia.

CAITME has developed into one of the region’s most important platforms for textile and garment technology. According to the organiser and independent exhibition audit results, it is the largest specialised exhibition of its kind in the CIS, providing international suppliers with direct access to Uzbekistan’s expanding textile manufacturing sector and neighbouring Central Asian markets.

Where Global Textile Technology Meets Central Asian Growth

Uzbekistan continues to strengthen its position as a major textile and apparel manufacturing hub, creating growing demand for modern machinery, automation and higher-value production technologies.

The country’s textile and garment industry employs more than 700,000 people, representing approximately 20% of its industrial workforce. Textile and garment exports reached around USD 2.6 billion in 2025, while the number of exporting companies has grown to more than 1,400.

Investment is also supporting the modernisation and expansion of production capacity. According to the CAITME organiser, investment in the sector is expected to reach approximately USD 2.2 billion in 2026 and USD 2.5 billion in 2027.

For machinery manufacturers, this industrial expansion positions CAITME as an important entry point not only to Uzbekistan but also to textile producers and investors from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the wider CIS region.

From Fibre Preparation to Finished Garments

CAITME covers technologies across the textile and garment production chain, enabling manufacturers to evaluate machinery and production solutions for both new investments and the modernisation of existing facilities.

Key technology areas include cotton ginning and spinning preparation, spinning and twisting, winding, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing and finishing, nonwovens, garment manufacturing, testing and quality control, textile chemicals, accessories and auxiliary equipment.

The exhibition also gives visitors an opportunity to see machinery and technologies in operation and to speak directly with technical specialists from international equipment manufacturers.

CAITME 2026 Set a Strong Benchmark

The previous edition demonstrated the international reach of the exhibition and the scale of investment interest in the Central Asian textile sector.

CAITME 2026 covered more than 15,000 square metres and brought together 262 companies from 19 countries. The exhibition recorded 4,694 professional visits, including 386 international visitors representing 36 countries.

International participation included a German National Pavilion supported by VDMA, alongside textile technology suppliers from major machinery-producing countries including China, Türkiye, Italy, India, Switzerland, Japan, the United States and other international markets.

Visitor and exhibitor feedback also reflected strong commercial intent: 93% of visitors were industry professionals, 55% were business owners or senior executives, and 65% said they planned to purchase exhibitors’ products as a result of the exhibition. According to the organiser, 80% of the exhibition space had already been rebooked for 2028.

CAITME combines machinery displays with a professional business programme designed to connect technology suppliers with manufacturers, investors and government representatives.

The programme typically includes B2B and B2G meetings, conferences, seminars, workshops, masterclasses and technology presentations, creating opportunities for companies to discuss investment projects, production upgrades and new commercial partnerships.

The 2026 edition also included B2G meetings between exhibitors and government representatives, as well as B2B meetings organised through the TextileExpo Uzbekistan Sourcing Hub.

CAITME’s role has evolved alongside Uzbekistan’s move from raw-material production toward a more integrated textile and apparel industry focused on value-added manufacturing.

For Central Asian manufacturers, the exhibition provides direct access to international machinery suppliers and technical expertise. For global technology companies, it offers an opportunity to meet factory owners, CEOs, technical managers, procurement specialists and investors actively involved in modernisation projects across the region.
