The European Commission has officially launched the EU Textiles Ecosystem Platform, a new digital hub designed to support stakeholders across the textile and apparel value chain in achieving greater sustainability, digitalisation, competitiveness, and resilience.
The launch event showcased the platform’s key features through a guided tour and interactive sessions. Attendees were introduced to tools that allow users to initiate discussions, publish insights, discover funding opportunities, access essential resources, and network with other stakeholders in the European textile industry.
Created under the EU Transition Pathways Platform project, the initiative follows the Transition Pathway for the Textiles Ecosystem published in June 2023. This roadmap outlines actionable steps to accelerate the sector’s transformation in line with the EU’s Green Deal and digital agenda.
“The EU Textiles Ecosystem Platform is more than a knowledge base — it’s a collaborative space where industry stakeholders can co-create solutions and lead the transition to a circular, low-impact and innovative textile economy,” said a European Commission spokesperson during the launch.
The platform offers a centralised interface for peer learning, interactive workshops, webinars, and community engagement to promote shared progress across Europe’s diverse textile and fashion sector.
Industry participants from manufacturing, technology, academia, and sustainability advocacy attended the event, highlighting the platform’s role in uniting the sector under common goals.
Stakeholders are invited to register and join early to contribute to shaping the platform’s development and steer future initiatives. The platform remains open for new members at any time.
