High-Performance Protection Backed by Class AAA Certification
According to the latest laboratory test results, the newly developed antimicrobial nonwoven material has demonstrated exceptional effectiveness against E.coli, Staphylococcus Aureus, and Candida Albicans, earning a Class AAA antibacterial classification for use in high-demand sanitary and medical applications such as surgical masks, protective gowns, diapers, and personal hygiene products.
Produced using polypropylene through the spunbond production method, the material is created in a continuous process and incorporates Parx Materials’ Saniconcentrate technology. This enables powerful antimicrobial protection without the use of toxic biocides, additives, or leaching substances, ensuring both human and environmental safety while preventing bacteria and viruses from surviving on the surface.
Proven Safety and Long-Term Efficacy
To validate its performance, SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services (Shanghai) carried out rigorous antibacterial knitwear-standard testing. Prior to testing, the nonwoven material was washed 50 times to assess durability.
After 18 hours, results showed:
- 90% efficacy against Candida Albicans
- 99% efficacy against E.coli
- Greater than 99% efficacy against Staphylococcus Aureus
These outstanding results confirm the material’s high performance and long-term antimicrobial functionality.
Additionally, a disk diffusion test was conducted to evaluate safety and potential chemical migration. The sample was placed in agar jelly for 18 hours (E.coli and Staphylococcus) and 48 hours (Candida). The findings showed no bacteria-free halo, proving there was zero migration from the material — far surpassing safety requirements and ensuring no harmful substances are released during use.
A Breakthrough for Hygiene, Safety, and Sustainability
This new nonwoven technology represents a major advancement for manufacturers seeking safe, non-toxic antimicrobial performance in hygiene, medical, and personal-use products. By eliminating migration and biocidal additives, the material is better for users, safer for the environment, and reduces the risk of microbial resistance.
“Our technology can now be incorporated in nonwoven materials to prevent the spread of bacteria and viruses,” said Michaël van der Jagt, CEO of Parx Materials. “It can also prevent odour — a major advantage for diapers and other hygiene products. And since it remains effective for over 50 washes, it is ideal for reusable items.”
The nonwoven fabric has officially received the highest antibacterial rating, Class AAA, under the People’s Republic of China (PRC) FZ/T 73023-2006 standard, solidifying its position as a leading solution for high-performance antimicrobial textile applications.
