Trützschler Nonwovens Wins Major Hydroentangling Project in Uzbekistan

Trützschler Nonwovens has secured a significant hydroentangling nonwovens project in SPUNLEKS LLC, marking a strategic step forward for Uzbekistan’s expanding nonwoven and hygiene materials sector.

Located in the Syrdarya region—Uzbekistan’s key cotton-growing hub—SPUNLEKS is investing in advanced nonwoven technology to move beyond traditional cotton processing and enter the premium wipes market. With this new installation, the company will be able to convert cotton as well as man-made fibers into high-quality nonwoven materials for baby care and personal hygiene applications.

Advanced Hydroentangling Line Enables Flexible Wipes Production

The project is based on Trützschler Nonwovens comprehensive hydroentangling solution, combining advanced fiber preparation and flexible spunlacing technology. The line includes T-BLEND fiber preparation equipment, a customized NCR random card, a high-performance AquaJet spunlacing unit, and an energy-efficient multi-drum dryer. This configuration enables the production of plain, structured, and perforated nonwovens with a strong focus on performance and efficiency.

According to project details, the new line is designed to process a wide range of raw materials, including virgin cotton, cotton and comber noil blends containing up to 40% short fibers, as well as polyester and viscose fibers. This flexibility allows SPUNLEKS to address diverse wipes applications and adapt to evolving market demands.

Installation of the hydroentangling line is currently underway, with commercial production scheduled to begin in 2026. The investment reflects a broader trend in Uzbekistan’s textile industry, where local manufacturers are increasingly focusing on value-added products, technological diversification, and downstream processing.

From an industry perspective, this project underlines the growing role of Uzbekistan not only as a cotton producer, but also as an emerging hub for advanced textile and nonwoven manufacturing. It also highlights Trützschler Nonwovens’ position as a key technology partner for companies seeking to unlock new business opportunities beyond conventional yarn production.

Kohan Textile Journal congratulates Trützschler Nonwovens and SPUNLEKS LLC on this strategic industrial cooperation and wishes both companies continued success in the development of high-performance nonwoven solutions for global markets.
