Sympatex Unveils Sustainable Innovations at Lineapelle 2025 in Milan

Sympatex Technologies, a global leader in sustainable functional textiles, is set to make a significant impact at Lineapelle 2025 in Milan. The event, held from February 25th to 27th, 2025, is one of the world’s premier trade fairs for leather, accessories, synthetics, and materials used in footwear, leather goods, apparel, and furniture. This makes it an ideal platform for Sympatex to present its latest eco-friendly breakthroughs.

Dedicated to merging high performance with sustainability, Sympatex will showcase its newest advancements at the fair. Among the highlights are the innovative moisture-tech by Sympatex® and next-generation non-woven laminate technology, both designed to set new standards for footwear materials.

Moisture-tech by Sympatex®: Enhancing Comfort and Sustainability

The moisture-tech by Sympatex® technology is engineered to quickly absorb sweat and promote rapid drying, significantly enhancing wearer comfort. Recent heat insulation tests reveal that this technology can reduce the internal temperature of a shoe by up to 45% compared to conventional materials, helping to lessen the risk of blisters and heat stress.

“With CASERTA, we are expanding our moisture-tech by Sympatex® portfolio with a sustainable product that features a 100% recycled polyester lining,” explained Kim Scholze, CSMO at Sympatex. “This innovation, designed for trail running, hiking, and children’s footwear, brings us one step closer to our goal of closing the loop every day.”

Next-Generation Non-Woven Laminates: A Greener Alternative

In addition to moisture-tech, Sympatex will introduce its cutting-edge non-woven laminates—a sustainable alternative to traditional foam-based materials. By eliminating the use of polyurethane foam, this new approach reduces CO₂ emissions by 10% and lowers water consumption by 15%, all while delivering the same durability and comfort as conventional solutions.

“We have replaced polyurethane layers with a 100% recycled polyester non-woven fabric,” said Yasemin Malcolm, Product Manager for Footwear at Sympatex. “This change not only improves resource efficiency but also brings us closer to achieving full mono-material recyclability for our laminates.”

Experience the Innovations at Lineapelle 2025

Visitors to Lineapelle 2025 are invited to discover these sustainable solutions firsthand at Sympatex’s booth in Hall 22, Booth H13-19, K14-20. Attendees will have the chance to interact with Technical Footwear Experts Mario di Pippo and Nicola Poloniato, who will be on hand to discuss the company’s sustainable strategies and their impact on the future of footwear materials.

In addition to the showcased technologies, the fair will also feature the new Utmospheric® bootie innovation. This product incorporates the patented Sympatex membrane, delivering enhanced performance alongside significant environmental benefits.

Sympatex Technologies continues to push the boundaries of sustainable textile innovation, offering products that not only meet high-performance standards but also contribute to a greener future. With its latest breakthroughs on display at Lineapelle 2025, Sympatex is poised to redefine industry standards in comfort, durability, and sustainability in footwear and beyond.
