SHIMA SEIKI to Exhibit at DTG 2023

Leading computerized flat knitting solutions provider SHIMA SEIKI MFG., LTD. of Wakayama, Japan is exhibiting at the 17th Dhaka International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition (DTG 2023) in Dhaka,  Bangladesh, in cooperation with its partner Pacific Associates Ltd. Operating in Bangladesh since 1996, this is the thirteenth time the Japanese manufacturer will participate at DTG.

SHIMA SEIKI is exhibiting its latest solutions to meet the current needs of the Bangladeshi market as well as advanced solutions for expanding market needs. As pioneer of WHOLEGARMENT® knitting technology whereby an entire garment can be produced in one piece on the machine without linking or sewing, the company is showing its MACH2XS153 WHOLEGARMENT® knitting machine in 18L, as well as its SWG091N2 “Mini” WHOLEGARMENT® knitting machine in 15G. MACH2XS features 4 needle beds and SHIMA SEIKI’s original SlideNeedle™, capable of producing high-quality fine gauge WHOLEGARMENT® knitwear in all needles. SWG091N2 provides opportunities in WHOLEGARMENT® knitting across a wide range of items in a compact, economical package.

In conventional shaped knitting, SVR123SP features a loop presser bed mounted above the rear needle bed and is capable of inlay technique for producing unique, value-added hybrid knit-weave fabrics. It also features such SHIMA SEIKI innovations as DSCS® Digital Stitch Control System, spring-type moveable sinker system, stitch presser, yarn gripper and cutter, and takedown comb. Made-in-Japan quality, reliability, productivity, user-friendliness and cost-performance all combine to satisfy the high expectations of the world’s fashion industry. SVR123SP at DTG furthermore features the new i-Plating option, capable of alternating yarn colors in any pattern, producing jacquardlike designs using plain jersey stitch. Plating can be performed within the same course and for individual needles for even greater diversity in knit design.

Demonstrations are performed on SHIMA SEIKI’s SDS®-ONE APEX4 design system. At the core of the company’s “Total Fashion System” concept, it provides comprehensive support throughout the supply chain, integrating production into one smooth and efficient workflow from yarn development, product planning and design, to machine programming, production and even sales promotion. Especially effective is the way SDS®-ONE APEX4 improves on the product planning and design evaluation process by replacing physical samples with digital prototypes. Based on photo-realistic simulations, these virtual samples minimize the need for actual sample-making, realizing significant savings in time, cost and material and contributing to sustainable manufacturing.

APEXFiz® is subscription-based design software that maintains the proven functions that have made SDS®-ONE APEX series design systems so popular with designers. Installed on personal computers, those strengths are now enhanced with the added versatility to adapt to different work styles and business environments including teleworking and telecommuting. APEXFiz® software supports the creative side of fashion from planning and design to colorway evaluation, realistic fabric simulation and 3D virtual sampling, helping to realize sustainability and digitally transform the fashion supply chain. APEXFiz® is available in 5 different product variations that can be selected according to the customer’s needs, from APEXFiz® Design Jr. to APEXFiz® Design Pro.
