MOMAD Drives Business and Innovation In The Fashion Industry, at An Edition that Has Established Its Growth

The fair saw an increase in trade visitors and is already preparing its next event from 23 to 25 July as an exclusive sector meeting.

The February edition of MOMAD, Feria Internacional de Moda, Calzado y Accesorios (International Fashion, Footwear and Accessories Trade Show) organised by IFEMA MADRID, saw an increase in professional visitors and the participation of more than 200 brands from 15 countries, confirming the event’s appeal as a strategic space for the fashion industry.

For three days, Hall 10 served as a stage where women’s and men’s fashion, footwear, accessories and swimwear brands presented their new collections to buyers, agents and distributors. This edition showcased a sector committed to brand identity, product quality, and sustainability, in an environment focused on direct contact and commercial decision-making.

As Julia González, director of MOMAD, explained, “the dynamic we have experienced at this edition and the commitment shown by the brands have opened up an exciting path for the next event, which will be held in July, where we will present a format with its own identity and a clear ambition for growth.”

Sustainability, innovation and emerging talent

In addition to its professional side, MOMAD included spaces and dynamics that enhanced the sector experience and added value to the commercial journey. In this context, the Boutique Consciente (Conscious Boutique), developed with Luxiders Magazine, featured brands that presented collections made with certified materials, responsible fabrics and low environmental impact production processes. The area has become established as a meeting point for exchanging knowledge on traceability, circularity, and the use of new biomaterials in design, shifting sustainability from discourse to concrete solutions within the product.

The MOMAD Catwalk contributed creativity and visibility to the event with fashion shows like those of Málaga de Moda and Castilla y León, along with the participation of international designers such as Romanian Designers. At the same time, talks aimed at professionals addressed strategic issues such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), the application of artificial intelligence in retail, data management, and cybersecurity, placing the debate in the business realm and providing tools to navigate the sector’s legal and technological challenges.

This edition also featured the Espacio Metro, a showcase for premium brands, which brought together six showrooms with 27 firms to present their collections for the A/W 26/27 season. MOMAD Talents by ISEM was part of this commitment to brand projection, with an initiative to support new brands and emerging designers. Lebago and Palaish were ranked first and second, respectively, and were provided with their own space at the fair to exhibit their collections to the professional public.

The next edition of MOMAD will be held from 23 to 25 July at IFEMA MADRID, as an exclusive event for the fashion sector within its professional calendar.
