September is here, the countdown to the 76th Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid from 14-18 September 2022 has started, and Spain’s fashion industry is putting the finishing touches to its biggest celebration at IFEMA MADRID and selected locations in the city of Madrid.

An excellent line-up for MBFWMadrid has been announced today, to fill the catwalks with all the new collections for spring/summer 2023. Fashion Week is organised by IFEMA MADRID with support from Madrid City Council.

A great line-up of 41 designers – now back to pre-pandemic figures – includes fashion industry stars like Andrés Sardá, Duyos, Redondo Brand, JCPajares, Malne, Pedro del Hierro, Maison Mesa, Dolores Cortés, Isabel Sanchís, Hannibal Laguna, Duarte, Álvaro Calafat, Teresa Helbig, Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, Aurelia Gil, Fely Campo, Ulises Mérida, Claro Couture, Custo Barcelona, Lola Casademunt by Maite and Roberto Diz. What’s more, ten industry promises will show their collections on the Allianz EGO fashion show on Sunday: Evade House, Corsicana, Mush, Arturo de la Rosa, Boltad, Kollapse, Crack, David Moss, Xvstrange y Frolov (MBFWM Tbilisi).

On 14 September, MBFWMadrid will turn its attention to the designers in the OFF Programme in selected venues around the city. The designers in question are García Madrid, María Lafuente, Félix Ramiro, Roberto Verino, Tete by Odette, Pilar Dalbat, Nicolás Montenegro and Paloma Suárez.

For the first time, Rafael Urquízar has been included in the creative cast. Meanwhile, the ESNE Escuela Universitaria collection will be revealed at an exclusive event on 13 September.

Awards

Some of the most anticipated moments of the fashion calendar are the prizes and awards handed out by MBFWMadrid sponsors to inspire its designers and models.

The awards will be given out at the end of the day’s events on Saturday, 17 September. L’Oréal Paris will award two prizes: the L’Oréal Paris Award to the Best Collection (to the best established designer at the show) and the L’Oréal Paris Award to the Best Model (among all the models walking from Thursday to Saturday). On Sunday, Allianz will hand out its Alliance Confidence in Fashion award to a creator showing in the Allianz EGO Showroom, while Mercedes-Benz will bestow the coveted Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent prize upon the best designer in the Allianz EGO day.

This edition of MBFW marks the 20th anniversary of the award.

Sponsors

With the committed support of sponsors from a variety of areas and businesses, a total of 16 brands will make the 76th edition of fashion week a lively, exciting affair. Once again, the main sponsors are Mercedes-Benz, L’Oréal Paris and Inditex; Allianz, Iberia, the newly opened Thompson Madrid as Official Hotel, Royal Bliss and Mó de Multiópticas as sponsors; Klarna, Rowenta, GHD, Mar de Frades, Málaga de Moda, ESNE Escuela Universitaria and Clínicas Dorsia as collaborating firms: and the brand El Tío Claus, which will also be in the Cibelespacio.

Fashion Reels

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid continues to add it value by offering visitors unique experiences where state-of-the-art immersive technology promotes the fashion industry.

All visitors and guests to the Cibelespacio are invited to make a stop at #FashionReels. There they will find a ground-breaking, one-of-a-kind technological innovation. Guests will star in 15-second reels at a unique, exclusive video call, with high-impact effects and visual animations, walking to the rhythm of the music on the virtual catwalk at MBFWMadrid. Each guest will instantly receive their reel to share on their social networks and become part of the MBFWMadrid universe.
