Visitors looking for reliable and precise testing solutions will find expert advice at booth B50 in hall 12.0. Here, Lenzing Instruments will present testing equipment designed to support quality assurance and process optimisation across the textile value chain.
The company’s comprehensive portfolio covers testing solutions for applications in filament yarn, staple fibres, nonwovens and synthetic films. Whether integrated directly into production lines, used for at-line monitoring, or deployed in laboratory environments, Lenzing Instruments offers a wide range of standardized as well as customer-specific solutions for the most relevant measurement tasks in modern fibre and textile production.
As sustainability and resource efficiency become key priorities, reliable process and quality control is more important than ever. Precise measurement data enables producers to optimise process settings, reduce raw material consumption, minimise off-grade production, and lower reclamation rates, contributing to improved product quality and more sustainable processes.
At booth B50, the following systems highlight Lenzing Instruments’ expertise in fibre and textile testing:
PROMPT online monitoring
Incorporating various single sensors, the PROMPT concept provides continuous monitoring of essential yarn properties including diameter, interlace, tension and spin finish, along with the detection of defects such as broken filaments and fluff. For defect detection, the product range includes optical sensors for feedback on deviations from set quality criteria.
These are available in various designs to suit different machine layouts and customer requirements. Systems such as the online mountable DEFECT VIEW combines optical sensors with a high-resolution camera to deliver detailed defect reports with precise locations and images.
Flexible online spin finish control
The portable OPUMETER offers a convenient tool for punctual spin finish checks and quick feedback on the %OPU / % FOY directly at the respective yarn position. The unit may also be used as a complement to fix mounted spin finish sensors available within the PROMPT sensor range.
Offline yarn defect detection
The stand-alone system ELKOMETER 200 with automatic yarn take-off function integrates optical PROMPT sensors to monitor up to eight yarn packages simultaneously for yarn characteristics and defects. Special features such as the manual defect assessment mode and optional defect image generation enable thorough analysis of identified anomalies.
Thermal Shrinkage Testing
Complementing Lenzing Instruments expert solutions for thermal shrinkage testing of filament yarn such as tire cord, the newcomer TST LITE provides a compact and cost-effective solution for measuring thermal shrinkage (%) on a single yarn sample. TST LITE, like all TST instruments, uses ASTM-standardized technology to ensure reproducible and reliable results.

A further exhibit is TST 2, Lenzing Instruments’ globally recognized standard in thermal shrinkage testing of filament yarn, allowing for flexible testing of up to two samples, measuring either shrinkage percentage, shrinkage force, or both simultaneously in a single test run. Further TST systems based on the same concept are TST 1, for one wider sample of up to 50 mm and TST 510/250 for up to 10 yarn samples.
Unwinding characteristics of yarn bobbins:
Exhibited is also the Package Performance Tester PPT 100. By means of high-precision analysis of the forces generated in the yarn bobbin/package during unwinding, its behavior in subsequent production steps becomes predictable. Analysis is made easy by means of the special Package Performance Factor, (PPF), which is generated for each tested yarn bobbin: The lower the PPF, the better it will perform during the following process steps.
