Freudenberg Performance Materials, a global leader in technical textiles, has acquired Foshan United Medical Ltd. (UMT), strengthening its position in the rapidly growing advanced wound care market. The acquisition enables Freudenberg to become a full-service supplier by integrating advanced medical technologies with its existing healthcare materials expertise.
The acquisition includes UMT’s headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Foshan, China, where approximately 200 employees develop and manufacture advanced wound care products. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Strategic Expansion in Healthcare Textiles
According to Dr. Andreas Raps, CEO of Freudenberg Performance Materials, the acquisition represents a strong strategic fit that will significantly broaden the company’s healthcare capabilities.

The company also contributes valuable regulatory expertise and intellectual property, including international product approvals and patents granted in China, Europe, and the United States. These capabilities are expected to accelerate Freudenberg’s expansion in the global healthcare and medical textiles sector.
