HPR (Highly Protected Risk) status represents the highest level of fire risk prevention and property protection achievable for industrial facilities. Industry-Leading Assessment by FM Global

Top-Tier Performance Across Risk Categories

The HPR designation was granted by FM Global, B.I.G.’s industrial property and business interruption insurer for the past three years. FM Global supports the Group through a dedicated team of risk-engineering experts who help protect assets, minimize exposure to loss, and ensure solid business continuity.

The audit focused on key industrial risk areas including:

  • Fire protection systems
  • Resilience to natural hazards
  • Machinery breakdown prevention
  • Cybersecurity readiness
  • Business interruption prevention

The Wielsbeke site achieved an exceptional score of 83, positioning it in the top 25% of industry peers for fire safety and risk prevention.

Reinforcing Supply Chain Security and Customer Confidence

Commitment to Long-Term Industry Leadership

The Wielsbeke facility manufactures high-performance polyolefin staple fibres for global sectors including automotive, flooring, and geotextiles.

Maria Teresa Tomaselli, Global Sales Director Fibres, emphasized:

“This HPR fibre production site strongly reinforces our supply chain security and demonstrates our commitment to customers and partners. Risk management and contingency planning are essential pillars of our long-term business strategy.”

B.I.G. continues to invest heavily in raising protection levels across all sites to safeguard business continuity and maintain superior service levels to the market.

Group-Wide Priority on Safety and Risk Reduction

A Model for All Beaulieu International Group Operations

Beaulieu Fibres International in Wielsbeke is now the third European facility in the Group to earn HPR status. Fire risk prevention is embedded within B.I.G.’s broader risk management vision, supported by multiple safety programmes across all business units.

Karena Cancilleri, Vice President Beaulieu Engineered Products, added:

“I am proud of the team for achieving this highly-regarded FM Global award and setting a benchmark for our entire Group. This step reflects our strong commitment to protecting our people, workplaces, and production capabilities.”

The HPR Award ceremony, held on February 20, 2019, brought together maintenance teams, B.I.G. leadership, Beaulieu Fibres International management, and FM Global representatives to celebrate this major achievement.
