Violar S.A., one of Greece’s oldest and largest cotton ginning and trading companies, has joined the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) as a Corporate Member, strengthening the federation’s representation of the global cotton industry.
The company has been a member of the International Cotton Association (ICA) since 2000 and exports Greek cotton to more than 10 countries across Europe, Africa and Asia.
ITMF Strengthens Cotton Industry Representation
Commenting on the new membership, Christian Schindler, Director General of ITMF, said welcoming Violar represents another important step in strengthening the federation’s cotton fiber expertise.
He noted that ITMF brings together companies from across the textile value chain—from fiber producers and textile machinery manufacturers to apparel and home textile producers—and said broader participation from the cotton sector will further enhance collaboration within the organization.
Schindler added that ITMF believes the new partnership will create mutual benefits for both the federation and Violar through increased knowledge sharing and industry cooperation.
Markou Vasileios, President of Violar S.A., said the company joined ITMF to expand its partnerships throughout the textile value chain.
He emphasized that closer collaboration and the exchange of industry knowledge are essential as the textile sector continues to evolve, adding that Violar looks forward both to contributing its expertise and gaining valuable insights through its membership.
