Made in Tuscany in Saudi Arabia: A Roundtable Discussing Perceptions of Excellence in The Textile Sector

“The time has come to share our skills and invaluable know-how beyond the European Union. Countries like the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia are full of young people eager to play a leading role in the future.”

With these words, Riccardo Bruni opened the event organized by Lyria on July 30th in Prato. An important opportunity for meeting and discussion to explore how excellence in the textile sector is perceived, focusing on the Tuscan textile district and the importance of education about the world of fabric for the Fashion and Design sector.

During the event, Riccardo discussed the successes and the insights of Lyria Academy, a project created to share the rich Italian and Tuscan heritage of textiles with young talents.

“It’s only in the factory that a young person learns to dream and create with their own hands. This is why I continue to advocate for establishing internal academies.”

The event was attended by the Saudi Fashion Commission, the Italian Under Secretary for Foreign Affairs On. Giorgio Silli, the Mayor of Prato Ilaria Bugetti, the Official of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Italy Miss. Abeer Al Ghofaily, the Mayor of Montemurlo and President of the Province of Prato Simone Calamai, the President of Textile Museum Foundation and Vicepresident of Association of Italian Industries district of Northern Tuscany Fabia Romagnoli, the Deputy Secretary General of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Prato Daniele Bosi and the Professor and Fashion Adviser NABA Nicoletta Branzi Morozzi.
