The transformation of fashion, accessories and footwear towards a more sustainable side is exemplified at MOMAD

• From February 4 to 6, at MOMAD trade visitors will be able to discover concepts coming from the fashion sector, with an eye on environmental care.

• The fair will be the ideal space in which new lifestyle trends, as well as fashion, footwear and accessories will come together to present their new collections.

The International Fashion, Textile, Footwear and Accessories Fair, organized by IFEMA MADRID, is finalizing its preparations for its celebration. This event, as usual, will have among its exhibitors a selection of proposals committed to reducing their impact on the environment and will present sustainable collections.

This line, which is committed to a circular economy, is increasingly being applied to all the brands presenting their collections at the fair; thus corroborating the sector’s drive for good practices and identifying how firms are committed to sustainability. This is corroborated by the European Fashion Report 2021 prepared by YouGov, which highlights that 42% of consumers note the importance of buying green and environmentally responsible clothing. Specifically, in our country this figure is 56%. In addition to this data, this information shows that 39% of buyers indicate that sustainable fabrics and materials are the most important ecological criteria when buying clothes.

These data are also reinforced in the Shaking Sustainability in the fashion business report prepared by the consulting firm EY and modaes.es, which recognizes that 82% of companies in the fashion sector have a sustainability policy formally approved by the board of directors or that 96% of fashion brands consider sustainability a high-impact brand attribute in the current and future development of their company.

MOMAD will be the space where all brands committed to sustainability in fashion will come together with the aim of generating new customers, finding contacts and creating synergies with other brands in this sector.

Image Forum: current trends and initiatives

In parallel, sustainability can also be known in the conference space that the fair organizes to coincide with Madridjoya, in this forum, visitors will have the opportunity to hear presentations from the world of fashion, jewelry, watchmaking or goldsmithing as ModaEspaña will offer, with a focus on sustainability as a strategy in the fashion world and how to adapt the company to create value, taking into account the triple bottom line that involves the environmental, social and financial impact, or dialogue on sustainable jewelry with the Sustainable Jewelry Association.

Also, while the fair is being held, trade visitors, both at MOMAD and at Intergift, Bisutex and Madridjoya, can access the digital platform LIVE CONNECT, which will generate a new meeting and business space for this lifestyle sector, and which can be accessed with the MOMAD entrance ticket.

Undergo the #ConectandoLaModa experience and enjoy, during February 4-6, 2022, the latest trends at the International Textile, Footwear and Accessories Show held at IFEMA MADRID.
