High quality fringe programme at Intertextile Shanghai

High quality fringe programme will be part of the 25th Autumn Edition of the Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles during August 28-31. The three-day fringe programme will have four sections – Design Inspiration, Business O2O, Textile and Technology, and Industry Empowerment, each with a separate display area, and associated round tables and seminars.

The programme on Design Inspiration will include a roundtable and panel discussion on Design For a Better Life, convened and moderated by renowned Chinese designer Shen Lei, with 12 Chinese designers, architects, fabric brands and international experts participating. There will also be discussion on The Past, Present and Future of Furnishing Design, led by Japanese designer and Renovetta project proponent Professor Toshiyuki Kita. This will focus on future home design trends and integrating traditional crafts with modern lifestyles.

Other topics of discussion under this section include the Fabrics of Living, the Contract Business 360 theme focusing on the contract textiles sector, Textiles in Office Environments, and Trends in Contract.

The section on Business O2O: online to offline commerce will have a Design + Trade @ e-commerce display area which will feature eight B2B e-commerce brands. These brands provide resources and new online channels to help companies to sell to Chinese end-users and designers and design studios. These have been selected to participate in the fair as they are focused more on higher quality products rather than targeting the mass market. There will also be four seminars led by Chinese e-commerce platform pioneers.

The theme on Textile and Technology: digital printing solutions and green designs, will have digital printing seminars focusing on industry transformation for home textile manufacturers and the exploration of intelligent home textile factories. As part of the Green Talk series, Thomas Charles will discuss Zero Emission Design.

The fringe programme on Industry Empowerment: global licensing trends and opportunities will see trade organisation Licensing International leading a Trends with IP, Retail with Licensing seminar focused on global licensing market trends, and how companies can increase sales through licensing.

The fair will also feature China Home Textile Trends area, which encapsulates next year’s seasonal trend themes: Fade, Rise Up, Seed and Daring.
