NNF DESIGN PRESENTATION 2021

DESCAT UK- Dev Ethical Sustainable Crafts and Textiles– a DIPP recognized B2B social impact startup for fashion, is organizing “NNF DESIGN PRESENTATION-2021” during Fashion Revolution Week 19-25 April 2021.

This is in line with their motto of working towards creating fashion, good to people and to the planet.

With the aim to promote practice of sustainable and circular fashion among fashion designers of tomorrow, DESCATUK has collaborated with 30+ fashion schools and institutions around the world.

“NNF DESIGN PRESENTATION 2021 will be our flagship event to work with ambitious students of fashion schools and professional designers, to promote awareness about how they can contribute towards UN Sustainable Development Goals of 2030, very early through their work.”, said Mr. K D Sharma, CEO of DESCATUK.

250+ students and professional designers would come together to conceptualize and create products with help of most sustainable NNF yarn and fabric, which will be evaluated by a design review board on parameters like circular fashion capability, social impact and scalability. “We are seeing participation from the largest pool of fashion schools competing in the event like National Institute of Fashion Technology, Wuhan Textile University, Polimoda Florence, BGMEA University of Fashion Technology (BUFT).” told by Amita Sharma, founder DESCATUK.

DESCATUK’s design review board comprises of sustainable fashion consultants, technology platform experts and fashion industry experts who have worked in circular fashion and sustainability space worldwide.

“To name a few, the review board has members from Fashion for Good society, The Artisan Gateway, Good Market, The Kaizen Sustainable community, Alsisar Impact, Creative Dignity, Aditya Birla Group, IIHT, Arihant Garment Processor and many other textiles Institutions.”, told by Dr Vishakha Karnad, Honorary Secretary, The Textile Institute & Coordinator Design Review Board NNF DESIGN COMPETITION 2021.

“It was fun with future fashion professional, and I was quite amazed with their awareness of the sustainable fashion”, said Vashali Hono Image management consultant, VJTI professional, volunteering mentoring group of participants from a fashion institute.

Creative energy of these young future fashion professional is channelized into sustainable/ upcycled fashion thought process by a group of faculty mentor, volunteer, mentors, and NIFTians at DESCATUK.

The curated design will be presented to the participating fashion brands in the NNF DESIGN PRESENATATION 2021 during 19 -25 Apr 2021 in Fashion Revolution Week. It will be one to one presentation to the PLATINUM partners, followed by GOLD, and SILVER partners. Fashion Startups, Women Entrepreneurs and Small Business owners are supported to participate for our aim “Together We Grow”, explained by K D Sharma CEO, DESCATUK The categories explored by these young fashion space to look for.

Brands Participants collaborations will be announced in an online event on 25th Apr 2021. Collaborative Brands, Mentors, and event partner will be offered a guided NNF designers are exhaustive for every segment of the fashion industry. The interesting section is non textiles uses of NNF yarn and fabrics which would be interesting
cluster tour during 2021-22 window.

NNF DESIGN PRESENTATION 2021 is supported by LIVA NNF Yarn Birla Cellulose, NGO Partner Sewa International Uttarakhand, EWOK IIT Mandi, Varnika, Usha Yarn, Alsisar Impact and WFB Baired India Private Limited.
