DOMOTEX Hannover 2028: Home of Flooring & Interior Finishing

DOMOTEX Hannover 2028 will return from January 17–20 as the international meeting point for flooring, carpets and the expanding world of interior finishing.
DOMOTEX 2028 will take place from January 17 to 20, 2028 at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds in Germany, continuing its transformation from a traditional flooring trade fair into an international platform for Flooring & Interior Finishing.
Organized by Deutsche Messe AG, DOMOTEX will once again connect flooring manufacturers, carpet producers, interior finishing suppliers, architects, designers, retailers, distributors, contractors and international buyers across four days of business, product discovery and industry exchange.
The 2028 edition will build on the repositioned exhibition concept successfully introduced in 2026, bringing flooring into a broader interior context that increasingly connects floors, walls, ceilings, materials and complete room solutions.
DOMOTEX 2028 Continues Its New Interior Finishing Concept
DOMOTEX is no longer positioning flooring as an isolated product category. Under its Home of Flooring & Interior Finishing concept, the exhibition is increasingly focused on how surfaces, materials and interior products work together within residential, commercial and contract spaces.
The official 2028 concept is built around the idea of “Creating Rooms – Transforming Spaces”, bringing together established flooring segments with an expanded range of products for walls, ceilings and interior construction.

Expanded Product Portfolio for DOMOTEX Hannover 2028
The 2028 edition will maintain DOMOTEX’s traditional strength in flooring while expanding its relevance to the wider interior finishing market.
Key exhibition areas include:
- Parquet, Wood, Cork & Laminate Flooring
- Resilient Floor Coverings & Design Flooring
- Outdoor Floor Coverings
- Tiles
- Machines, Tools & Techniques
- Wall and Ceiling Products
- Mats & Clean-off Systems
- Textile Floor Coverings, Fibres & Yarns
- Privacy Screens, Shading Elements and Insect Screens
DOMOTEX also continues to maintain dedicated expertise around hand-made carpets and rugs as well as machine-made carpets and rugs, reflecting the exhibition’s long-standing connection with the international carpet industry.
Flooring Meets Walls, Ceilings and New Interior Materials
One of the most important developments in the new DOMOTEX concept is the stronger integration of adjacent interior-finishing sectors.
For 2028, the exhibition is expected to place increased emphasis on areas such as cast flooring and screed systems, paints, wallpapers, acoustic solutions and other materials for contemporary interior construction.
This creates new opportunities for visitors who increasingly evaluate interiors as complete systems rather than purchasing flooring, wall products and other finishing materials independently.
For manufacturers, the expanded concept also opens access to a broader professional audience including architects, planners, contractors, craftspeople, interior designers and project-based buyers.
Carpets and Textile Floor Coverings Remain Important at DOMOTEX
Despite the wider interior-finishing strategy, carpets and textile flooring remain an important part of the DOMOTEX identity.
The exhibition continues to cover machine-made carpets, hand-made rugs, textile floor coverings, fibres and yarns, bringing producers and buyers together from important carpet-manufacturing and sourcing markets around the world.
The textile flooring segment serves both residential and contract applications, covering products ranging from hard-wearing commercial flooring solutions to decorative and premium carpets for interior spaces.
Hand-made carpets also remain closely connected to the show’s design focus, combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary colours, materials and interior trends.

Sustainability and Innovation Shape the DOMOTEX Experience
Sustainability continues to play an important role within the exhibition concept. DOMOTEX uses formats such as The Green Collection to highlight circularity, environmentally responsible materials and more sustainable approaches to interior finishing.
At the same time, technological innovation is increasingly influencing flooring production, installation and interior design.
Manufacturers are introducing new material compositions, digital production processes, improved installation systems and products designed around resource efficiency, durability and recyclability.
The broader DOMOTEX platform allows these developments to be considered alongside changing architecture, interior design and lifestyle trends.
Special Displays Connect Industry, Architecture and Trade
Beyond conventional exhibitor stands, DOMOTEX has developed specialised formats designed for different professional groups.
These include areas such as:
- Architects Space – connecting materials and product innovation with architects and planners.
- Retailers Park – supporting exchange between manufacturers, retailers and the skilled trades.
- The Green Collection – highlighting sustainability and circular interior solutions.
- The Work Shop – focusing on practical products, applications and installation techniques.
- Digital Shop – addressing digital solutions relevant to retail and the flooring business.
These formats strengthen DOMOTEX’s role not only as a sourcing exhibition but also as an industry platform for knowledge transfer, practical demonstrations and professional networking.
DOMOTEX Strengthens Its International Flooring Network
The Hannover exhibition remains the European flagship within the wider international DOMOTEX network.
Alongside DOMOTEX Hannover, the brand operates through international events including DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR in Shanghai and DOMOTEX South East Asia, extending its reach across major flooring and interior markets.
For international exhibitors, Hannover provides access to distributors, retailers, importers, architects, contractors and decision-makers from Europe and other global markets.
For visitors, the exhibition creates an opportunity to compare materials, production technologies, design directions and suppliers across multiple flooring and interior-finishing categories in one location.
