Among Durak Tekstil’s most notable innovations is Durak Poly-Strong PC-IR, a sewing thread engineered to be invisible to infrared (IR) cameras in the 700–1200 nm wavelength range. Originally developed at the request of the Polish armed forces, this advanced thread enhances camouflage functionality by eliminating IR-detectable seams—an area often overlooked in military garments. The product is now gaining adoption across military, security, nature gear, and high-performance outdoor applications.
Produced in khaki green and available in various thicknesses, PC-IR offers high resistance to environmental stressors including washing, UV exposure, friction, hypochlorite, perspiration, and microbial growth—ensuring both durability and hygiene.
Another innovative solution is Durak Bug Safe, a specialty thread designed to repel bedbugs, mites, and similar pests—common concerns in bedding and home textiles. Leveraging a custom-engineered scent, Bug Safe works without toxic chemicals and remains effective for up to 30 washes. Beyond bedding, it is suitable for toys, outdoor goods, and even agricultural clothing, enhancing both safety and sustainability in textiles.
Strategic U.S. Presence and Global Optimization
Durak Tekstil has officially launched Durak USA, headquartered in North Carolina. This new facility marks a strategic step in strengthening its North American operations by reducing lead times and enhancing customer service for regional buyers.
In parallel, the company has optimized its operations in China, relocating production back to Türkiye while converting its Chinese facility into a dedicated sales office. This centralization in Bursa supports tighter quality control and expands local manufacturing capabilities.

Led by third-generation executive Yiğit Durak, the company allocates approximately 5% of its turnover to R&D, more than double the industry standard. “Functionality, art and sustainability were determined as our basic pillars in our growth process,” said Durak. “Our R&D studies on technical threads continue uninterruptedly and direct us to new areas.”
