Candor Textiles has strengthened its position in the global functional textiles market through the integration of advanced coating technology from Zimmer Austria, supported by A.T.E. Enterprises in India. The investment marks a key milestone in the company’s strategic transformation from a traditional greige fabric manufacturer into a value-driven producer of high-performance textiles.
Originally operating under its parent company Jyoti Overseas, Candor began as a supplier of greige canvas fabrics. However, as market demands evolved, the company shifted its focus toward finished textiles and made-ups, ultimately establishing itself in the functional textiles segment. Today, nearly 90% of its production is export-oriented, reaching close to 50 countries, with the United States, Europe, and Australia as its primary markets.
This transition reflects a broader industry movement toward higher-value textile production, where consistency, compliance, and performance characteristics are essential for global competitiveness.
Advanced Coating Technology Drives Quality and Consistency
Candor’s operations are structured across three key divisions: textile processing, art canvas production, and custom sewing solutions for heavy-duty applications. Its core strength lies in manufacturing heavy-weight canvas fabrics used in demanding environments such as luxury tents, outdoor structures, and industrial applications. These products require advanced functional properties, including waterproofing, UV resistance, flame retardancy, and high durability.
Recognizing coating as a critical value-added process, the company invested in a Zimmer Austria coating line approximately two and a half years ago. Prior to this, Candor faced challenges related to manual variability and inconsistent output, particularly in parameters such as GSM uniformity, coating thickness, and surface finish.

The implementation of Zimmer’s technology has significantly improved automation, programmability, and repeatability across production processes. This has reduced manual errors, minimized product rejections, and enhanced overall reliability—especially in precision-sensitive segments such as art canvases and performance textiles.
Beyond operational improvements, the presence of globally recognized machinery has also strengthened Candor’s credibility among international buyers. In an industry where factory audits and compliance checks are critical, advanced infrastructure plays a decisive role in building trust and securing long-term partnerships.
At the same time, Candor continues to align its technological investments with sustainability goals. The company operates a Zero Liquid Discharge system and relies heavily on solar energy, while maintaining certifications such as GOTS and GRS. These initiatives reinforce its commitment to environmentally responsible manufacturing.
As global demand for functional and sustainable textiles continues to grow, Candor’s investment in advanced coating technology highlights the importance of precision engineering and strategic partnerships in driving competitiveness across the textile value chain.
