ACIMIT Welcomes ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025 as a Strategic Gateway to the Asian Market

Italian textile machinery manufacturers view the relocation of ITMA ASIA + CITME to Singapore in 2025 as a timely and strategic move to strengthen engagement with the wider Asian market, according to Marco Salvadè, President of ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers.

Speaking about the decision, Salvadè noted that while Italian manufacturers have a long history of presence in China, the dynamics of the Asian textile market have evolved significantly over the past two decades.

“China remains one of our most important markets, but it is no longer the only one,” Salvadè said. “Asia as a whole represents around 44% of Italian textile machinery exports, and today it is essential to be closer to the broader region, not just a single country.”

He emphasized that customer expectations in Asia have changed, with manufacturers increasingly seeking diversified solutions, advanced technologies, and closer regional access. In this context, Singapore offers a strategic location that connects key Asian markets and reflects the shifting geography of textile investment and production.

“For us and for our member companies, moving ITMA ASIA + CITME to Singapore is a very good idea,” Salvadè added. “It allows us to stay close to multiple Asian countries and better serve a market that continues to grow in importance.”

ACIMIT’s strong support for ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025 underlines the association’s broader commitment to Asia as a core growth region, while reinforcing the role of Italian textile machinery as a global benchmark for innovation, quality, and technological leadership.
