From Raw Material to Full Range of Reactive Dyes: A Journey to Sustainable Future by Shree Pushkar – Dyecol

Interview with Dr N.N. Mahapatra / Business head of Shree Pushkar chemical Ltd. (Dyecol)

There is a fact that after a long time you have the chance again to meet the customers face to face and shake hands with them in real, how do you evaluate the Interdye & Textile Printing Eurasia exhibition in general?

Exhibitions and events always are good and effective in terms of meeting new customers and having a chat with existing clients, now in post-pandemic times people are so anxious and eager to be in the business and exhibition atmosphere and especially both manufacturers, suppliers and clients are looking for new products and development in field of textile sustainability and green products that is the market trend and in centre of attention, in this exhibition, it is the main question that what is new for sustainability!

Interdye & Textile Printing Eurasia from the organization part is acceptable and there are many visitors and exhibitors in the show but as you know the market is very slow now and slowly by March market again start a movement forward. Now we keep ready ourselves with all new products, testing, sampling and … and as soon as the market is fixed up we are ready to support our clients.

We As Dyecol Brand participating in Interdye & Textile Printing Eurasia and turkey market for first time and we are planning to discover and analyze the Turkish huge market for textile chemicals and dyes and its potential.

Last year we have started our activities and textile business in the Bangladesh market and we pass a very successful year in this country as one of the biggest textile dye consumer markets. In Interdye & Textile Printing Eurasia 2022 we are trying to find a local partner that joins hands with us for a long time and ethical cooperation.

Dyecol Main Products?

Shree Pushkar is a company based in Mumbai and apart from the final products we are an important raw material producer in India and whatever we need for our dye production process we make ourselves in our own facilities, we have a full range of reactive dyes.

Producing raw materials is our main advantage in comparison with other Indian big manufacturers, we are among the top 5 producers in India in the textile dyes sector.

This advantage makes Dyecol very flexible with the ability to respond to market demands in a fast and reliable way. We are cost-effective. our other advantage is whatever by-products we get from dye and dye intermediates manufacturing that is called “Spent Acid” we don’t throw it out and reuse it for making our fertilizers range which is why we are zero waste manufacturing company.

Another example is in our reactive dyes black series, black is the major volume in reactive dyes. in black dye manufacturing process we have two main raw materials H Acid and VS (Vinyl Sulphone), vinyl sulphone which we manufacture in our own facilities has the lowest PCA in the world and all major dye manufacturers in India buy from us because nowadays all manufacturers and suppliers has focus on low PCA in their products and we are the only manufacturer in the world.

Also Dyecol benzol Peroxide fast reactive dyes are another new product we introduce to the market. benzol proxide fast reactive dyes features are specially designed for high-end textiles, have excellent migration properties for medium and dark shades, good light fastness, ideal for right-first-time dyeing and also passes the benzol peroxide fastness test as per the buyers’ requirement.

Another reactive dyes series of Dyecol is the Ultra SD series which will cover all dyeing processes including printing. It means manufacturers can work with one dye in all processes and it is so cost-effective,

Dyecol is Ultra SD series features are: Applicable for cost-effective medium to dark shades, it can be applied in continuous dyeing – printing and exhaust dyeing, high reproducibility and good overall fastness,

How do you evaluate Indian textile dye manufacturers and the global market situation in general?

In the past decade, Indian manufacturers develop a lot and now many international brands produce dyes and chemicals by Indian partners.

Indians, especially in reactive dyes and raw materials are so powerful with a logical balance of quality and price, on the other side china is so powerful in disperse dyes But today what is happening is that China face a very serious pollution problem and they want to go out from this dirty business and invest on more technology-based sectors.

when China slowly go out of business there is another big chance for India to capture the opportunity for a more disperse dye markets share, if India can solve the pollution problem with new technologies and solutions can be a chance and if not maybe this business shift to Africa.

If you go back European countries did the same thing, in the past, all textile dyes come from Germany, Switzerland and … but when they see the huge damage to the water sources and environment transferred the sector to the east and now they are working on high-tech products, technical textiles and … this is how it works

Generally, dye manufacturing is a highly polluted process with irreparable dames to nature and water sources but as I told you technology like all other industries helps us with fast development and new solutions. Today we have new and interesting solutions like bio-treatments, very effective recycling and reusing sources, using new forms of energy, salt-free dyeing process, waterless dyeing of polyester that is started in two plants in Thailand and Taiwan and many other new achievements,

I think the future of the textile dye and chemicals industry is so bright and we move forward to a cleaner and green planet day by day with help of research and developments.

In Shree Pushkar also we are working very seriously on our R and D and we have new products like SS Series (Super Strength Series) with features like selected bi-functional and polyfunctional dyes for medium to heavy dark shades, high fixation and excellent build-up properties, good penetration and levelling properties, practically salt-free and high tinctorial value dyes and sustainable solution for the exhaust dyeing process.

This SS series reduce dye consumption in the factory dramatically by 50%, in that case, that will happen is washing process time will be very short and we can save time, energy, water and detergents. This is one of the practical ways we help to have a better environment for the next generation
