Konica Minolta Middle East supports Digital Printing Education in Pakistan

Office Automation Group and Konica Minolta donate bizhub C1060L to Govt. College of technology for printing and graphic arts

Konica Minolta, a leader in delivering matchless business transformation solutions and technologies, together with its partner Office Automation Group (OAG) has donated a digital press bizhub C1060L to Govt. College of technology for printing and graphic arts in Pakistan in order to advance the learning of students studying printing and graphics as part of their curriculum.

OAG approached PAPGAI (Pakistan Association of Printing and Graphic Arts Industry) to offer their support to develop key skills and techniques required for digital printing. OAG has also taken up the responsibility of training teaching staff at the college on digital printing technology and the workings of the machinery for the benefit of teachers and that of the students.

With the advances in technology, digital printing solutions are evolving with each passing day and it is important to have a workforce that is trained and acquainted with the evolving technology. Govt. College of technology for printing and graphic arts is only institute in Pakistan that teaches printing techniques. The bizhub C1060L is the first ever digital press to be installed and sponsored in the college. It will provide an opportunity to the students to learn digital printing solutions on a state-of-the-art machine that will enhance their preparedness to join the industry. Practical learning will help a great deal as students will be able to gain hands-on experience in operating the machine.

OAG has committed to contribute all running charges of the machine and will upgrade the machine as and when required with the latest technology. Approximately, 150 students graduate from the college every year. The contribution of this machine will help thousands of students over the next few years.

An MOU was signed between Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) and OAG. The ceremony was attended by TEVTA Chairman of the Technical Education Vocational Training Authority Mr. Ali Salman, PAPGAI Chairman Mr. Mobeen Hussaini, Principal Founder of the College Mr. Minhas and Mr. Butt – Chief Executive of OAG.
