Morocco’s exports to Spain increased by 6.7% in the first seven months of 2018 compared with the same period last year, the EU statistics office said.
Morocco’s imports from Spain grew by 7.8% while its imports from the EU followed a similar rising trend at 7.1 percent, the source said.
Morocco’s exports to Spain consisted primarily of agricultural products, textile, electronic equipments, while its imports include mainly fuel and mechanical equipment.
Spain remains Morocco’s top trading partner taking 41.2 % of the north African country’s exports, followed by France with 29.4%, Italy 6.4%, the UK 4.6% and Germany 4.4%.
Spain is also Morocco’s main supplier with 36.1%, followed by France 18.9%, Germany 8.9%, Italy 8.7% and the Netherlands 4.9%.
