Yarn Expo Shenzhen Returns in June to Connect with South China’s Growing Textile Market

After attracting nearly 20,000 visits from 45 countries and regions last year, Yarn Expo Shenzhen is set to return from 11 to 13 June 2025 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center (Futian), further strengthening South China’s role as a textile innovation hub. With modern infrastructure and China’s expanded visa-free policies, Shenzhen is highly accessible to domestic and international markets. Additionally the city remains a key destination for apparel brands, designers, and knitting and underwear manufacturers. Held alongside Intertextile Shenzhen and two other apparel shows, the fair will once again promote meaningful exchange across the textile value chain, empowering the industry with an array of in-demand yarns and fibres, and fringe events highlighting sustainability and innovation.

The global yarn, fibre and thread market is projected to reach USD 138.7 billion by 2029 at a CAGR of 6.4%, with Asia-Pacific holding the largest share. Meanwhile, China’s expansion of its unilateral visa-free policy – now covering 18 more countries and extending stay durations to 30 days – promotes economic opportunities. Especially focused on promoting Asian industry exchange, Yarn Expo Shenzhen is a key international sourcing platform driving trade and connectivity in South China.

Emphasising this synergy, Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said, “Held in mid-summer between the Shanghai editions, Yarn Expo Shenzhen aims to additionally foster a comprehensive dialogue and industry exchange in the vibrant South China region, boosting advancements in sustainable practices and international collaboration. Previous editions have proven success of this strategic positioning, and we look forward to cultivating more business connections in 2025.”

The Greater Bay Area (GBA) continues to reinforce its economic strength with an effective supply chain which bodes well for sustained business growth and expansion. Located in the heart of the GBA textile production hub, the Shenzhen fair is well positioned to weave connections that inspire innovation and growth across the industry.

The upcoming edition of Yarn Expo Shenzhen will feature a range of yarns and fibres across seven zones, including the Cashmere Yarn Zone, the Chemical Fibre Zone, the Cotton Yarn Zone, the Fancy Yarn Zone, the Linen Yarn Zone, the Wool Yarn Zone, and the International Yarn Zone. Staying close to key industry trends, the fair will also feature the New Green Fibre Materials display zone and other fringe areas and events to help redefine the textile future.

Looking back, the 2024 edition was a rewarding experience for many exhibitors, including Mr Mohsin Ghoniya from the Textile Division of Global Tex, India: “We have received a lot of positive feedback so far. Shenzhen has a vibrant knitting market that has captured our attention as we seek to expand our presence in the southern region. Our 20 carded knitting yarn is the most popular item here in the Guangdong market, as we got a lot of orders from sweater manufacturers.”

Visiting the same edition, Mr Xie Yongxian, Sales Manager of Foshan Anxin Fiber Technology Co Ltd, also shared his thoughts: “Nowadays the demand for high-performance, eco-friendly and innovative fibres is getting higher and higher. When we talk about breakthroughs, one of the keys is to focus on the latest progress of raw materials, because there are more technological elements to it. This fair being development-oriented is the reason I am visiting.”

Yarn Expo Shenzhen 2025 will be held concurrently with Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics, BIRD Fashion Fair and PH Value, together providing a comprehensive trading platform for the entire textile value chain.

Yarn Expo Shenzhen is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; China Cotton Textile Association; and China Chemical Fibers Association.
