The Turan Textile Fair, held in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku, continues to bring together leading textile professionals from across the Turkic world. The event, which opened its doors yesterday and continues today, has attracted around 3,000 visitors and nearly 100 brands from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
Traditional Motifs Meet Modern Technology
At the fair, traditional textile motifs are being reinterpreted through modern technologies, while B2B participants have found valuable opportunities to establish new business partnerships. Many exhibitors have also showcased and promoted their own textile products to both domestic and international buyers.
“Made in Turan” Brand Gaining Momentum
Jamid Movsumov, President of the Azerbaijan Franchise Association, emphasized that the fair’s core mission is to unite Turkic brands on a common platform and support their expansion into global markets.
“Our aim is to bring together brands from the Turkic world under the ‘Made in Turan’ umbrella. We’re organizing activities and B2B meetings within the fair. With support from the Trabzon Businessmen Association, we’ve brought 12 company representatives from Turkey to explore direct partnerships with other Turkic brands,” said Movsumov.
He added that the “Made in Turan” brand was officially launched on May 22 in Astana, Kazakhstan, and that the Turkic States Economic Forum was organized earlier on May 2, 2024. On November 26, the Turan E-Trade & E-Export Forum was held, featuring participation from 780 companies, including 100 from Kazakhstan alone.
“Today, we see strong participation from Uzbekistan-based textile companies. While Uzbekistan has a vibrant textile industry, these companies are still relatively weak in online markets. By connecting them with Turkish companies, we’re creating a platform to help Turkic brands—particularly from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Turkey—enter and grow in international e-commerce markets. This platform is called Turan Ecom,” he added.
Expanding Infrastructure for Global Reach
Movsumov also announced the launch of the Turan Ecom office in Baku and the development of distribution centers in Germany, the Netherlands, the U.S., and China, aimed at supporting the international growth of Turkic brands.
“Our initial target is to ensure the entry of Turkic world brands into these key markets. Our long-term vision is to elevate ‘Made in Turan’ into a globally recognized brand. One of our next goals is to launch the Turan Agricultural Fair by year-end, especially along the new trade route through Karabakh and Zangezur. We aim to highlight innovations such as artificial intelligence in agriculture within this future exhibition.”
Regional Cooperation and Sustainable Growth
As the Turan Textile Fair continues, the momentum behind regional cooperation, cross-border e-commerce, and sustainable industry development appears stronger than ever.
