SSMI Leads Decommissioning and Asset Recovery for Nyobe Facility

In a significant move towards industrial sustainability and the circular economy, SSMI has partnered with Nyobe to facilitate the decommissioning of its polymerization production facilities. This collaboration ensures a safe, efficient, and transparent dismantling process while maximizing the reuse of high-value machinery and equipment.

Comprehensive Project Scope

The Nyobe project entails a full-scale dismantling of surplus polymerization equipment and facilities within a 10-month timeframe. SSMI will oversee asset inventory management, disassembly, logistical coordination, and site restoration to a “broom clean” condition. The process will adhere to stringent Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and comply with both local regulations and Nyobe’s site-specific requirements.

Depending on the client’s needs, SSMI can execute the dismantling while preserving the building structure or proceed with a complete demolition, optimizing cost-efficiency and potential scrap revenue.

High-Value Machinery Available for Sale

As part of the dismantling, a range of well-maintained polymerization systems, piping, and associated components will become available. These assets will be marketed to SSMI’s extensive global network of over 110,000 buyers, ensuring their optimal reuse in other production facilities. High-demand equipment will be sold through direct sales or auction, maximizing value recovery. Any unsold items will be responsibly scrapped, further supporting the project’s environmental objectives.

For a comprehensive overview of the available machinery, interested buyers can download the product folder and explore the full list of assets.

Following the conclusion of operations at the Kruisem facility, Nyobe’s professionally maintained machinery is now available for new production environments.

SSMI: Expertise in Industrial Downsizing and Asset Recovery

SSMI was established to address the challenges of industrial downsizing, relocation, and decommissioning. Recognizing the inefficiencies of working with multiple partners for dismantling, relocation, and asset recovery, SSMI was created as a full-service solution. With over 75 years of combined expertise, the SSMI team ensures seamless project execution while adhering to the highest HSE and industry standards.

By offering a streamlined, compliant, and value-driven approach, SSMI continues to set new benchmarks in industrial asset recovery and facility decommissioning.
