WestPoint has expanded its manufacturing operations in Bahrain with a facility producing fibre fillings, pillows and other filled home-textile products, broadening its local offering for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets.
Bahrain’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, inaugurated the facility in the presence of WestPoint CEO Jonathan Storey, officials and industry representatives.
Expansion Builds on Existing Towel Manufacturing
The new facility adds pillows and other filled products to WestPoint’s existing towel manufacturing operations in Bahrain.
Storey said the investment builds on the company’s experience in the Kingdom and will expand its locally manufactured product range to meet growing demand across GCC markets. He also highlighted Bahrain’s investment environment as a factor supporting the company’s development.
The expansion increases the availability of “Made in Bahrain” home textiles and is expected to support regional sourcing while reducing reliance on finished products imported from outside the region.
Supporting Bahrain’s Industrial Development
Speaking at the inauguration, Fakhro said international industrial investments reflected Bahrain’s competitive advantages and supported the objectives of its Industrial Sector Strategy 2022–2026.
The strategy seeks to develop manufacturing, increase its contribution to GDP, strengthen supply chains and expand exports. The minister said WestPoint’s investment would support local production, product competitiveness and access to regional markets.
The inauguration follows Bahrain’s hosting of the first Made in the Gulf 2026 Forum and Exhibition, which highlighted opportunities to expand local manufacturing and respond to regional demand for locally produced goods.
