Techtextil India 2025 to Debut ‘Sporttech Pavilion’ in Strategic Move to Boost Sports and Activewear Textiles

Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt Ltd and Concept N Strategies have announced a landmark partnership to launch the ‘Sporttech Pavilion’ at Techtextil India 2025. The new dedicated zone will spotlight innovations in sports and activewear textiles, accessories, and equipment, placing a sharp focus on high-performance, sustainable, and smart textile solutions.

Set to take place in 2025, the Sporttech Pavilion will serve as a premier launchpad for India’s burgeoning fitness and sports textile market. This initiative reflects the nation’s growing emphasis on self-reliant textile production and aligns with the government’s push for innovation in technical textiles.

India’s Sports Textile Sector Poised for Takeoff

India’s fitness and sports textile segment is undergoing rapid transformation, fuelled by shifting consumer lifestyles, cutting-edge material innovations, and policy-level support. The Indian sportswear market, currently valued at USD 10.2 million (2024), is projected to grow to USD 16.6 million by 2033 at a CAGR of 5.1%, according to IMARC Group. Globally, the sportswear market is forecasted to hit USD 350.45 billion by 2032.

Commenting on the launch, Raj Manek, Executive Director & Board Member, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd, said:

“Sporttech Pavilion is a natural extension of Techtextil India’s legacy as a launchpad for textile innovations. It will provide a focused platform for the rapidly growing sports and performance textile sector.”

Kishan Daga, Anchor Founder, Concepts N Strategies, added:

“India has the potential to emerge as a global hub for performance-driven sportswear. Sporttech Pavilion will play a key role in accelerating this momentum by offering a world-class showcase for Indian manufacturers.”

Expanding Exhibitor Base and Industry Focus

Sporttech Pavilion will feature:

  • Producers of advanced sports textile materials, including moisture-wicking, compression, and breathable fabrics
  • Sustainable and recycled textile suppliers for apparel, gear, and accessories
  • Fitness equipment and accessories manufacturers focusing on textile-based products (e.g., yoga mats, fitness bands)
  • Smart textile innovators with embedded sensor fabrics for fitness tracking
  • Chemical and finishing solution providers offering performance-enhancing coatings like UV protection, anti-odour, and water repellency
  • Machinery and technology companies offering solutions for dyeing, testing, and fabric finishing

The pavilion is expected to attract an audience of major sportswear brands, product developers, sourcing agents, R&D professionals, and fitness-driven consumers.

Global Collaboration and Strategic Positioning

Through Messe Frankfurt’s global reach and Concept N Strategies’ industry insights, the partnership will create export opportunities for Indian firms while attracting global buyers and technologies. The Sporttech Pavilion will run alongside Techtextil India’s second edition of MEDITEX, a showcase of medical textiles in association with SITRA.

This strategic addition not only underscores India’s growing capabilities in technical textiles but also highlights the country’s readiness to become a major global player in the sports and fitness apparel market.
