SGS Celebrates A Decade of Testing Textile Products In Morocco

SGS Maroc offers conformity assessment certificates to industrial Moroccan businesses aiming to boost their presence in global markets.

SGS Maroc, the Moroccan arm of the Swiss global leader in conformity assessment – conducting laboratory tests to make sure products adhere to global consumer safety standards– is celebrating today a decade of operating in Morocco.

Holding a confirmation assessment certificate is paramount for businesses to boost consumer confidence in products, as consumers worldwide will readily favor products adhering to global standards of consumer safety.
Before the group opened the Casablanca laboratory, Morocco outsourced inspection, audit, and the process of applying for conformity certificates, increasing the time constraint.

SBS entered the Moroccan market by acquiring the Laagrima testing laboratory, which mainly operated in the agri-food industry. The benchmark group deepened its foothold in Morocco in 2017 through the acquisition of Laboratoire LCA, a soil and fertilizers testing lab headquartered in Casablanca.

The company said in a statement that its aim is to use its presence in the Moroccan market to expand across North Africa.

SGS enjoyed a strong run in 2021. With a 14.3% year-to-year increase in revenues, the company’s net revenues reached $6.8 billion, showing positive signs of post-pandemic recovery.
