Proposte, the renowned international trade fair for furnishing fabrics, curtains, trimmings, and wallcoverings, has announced that its 2026 edition will take place from May 5–7, once again at its iconic venue, Villa Erba on Lake Como. Organizers have also confirmed the extension of the venue contract through 2028, cementing Villa Erba as the long-term home of the prestigious event.
In addition to the new dates, Proposte has introduced a new president: Marco Parravicini, CEO of Parà, a storied Italian textile company now in its third generation. Parravicini succeeds Alessandro Tessuto and brings decades of industry experience to the role.
“Proposte is the international benchmark for excellence in the furnishing textiles sector—a flagship event that must continue to attract top companies and global visitors,” said Parravicini.
Matteo Cavelli, owner of Mario Cavelli, has been reappointed to the board, which also includes Alberto Paccanelli, CEO of Martinelli Ginetto Group and honorary president of Euratex.
According to Massimo Mosiello, Director of Proposte, the 2025 edition welcomed an impressive 75% of its attendees from outside Italy, highlighting the fair’s global draw. Notably, 2025 marked the first significant participation of trade buyers from Saudi Arabia, with continued strong representation from the U.S., UK, France, Germany, Belgium, and Spain, as well as from markets such as New Zealand, Lebanon, and Eastern Europe.
Proposte continues to be a key platform for showcasing the latest innovations in high-end furnishing textiles, providing unmatched opportunities for international networking and collaboration.
