UMS Couturier Leads Georgia’s Sewing Industry with Global Partnerships

Tamar Kirakosian, manager of UMS Couturier, proudly announces the company’s significant contributions to the sewing industry in Georgia since its establishment in 1999. Over the years, UMS Couturier has captured the largest market share by importing and selling high-quality sewing, embroidery, knitting, and ironing machines from leading global brands such as Juki, Jack, Brother, Janome, and Madeira.

Textiles have played a vital role in Georgian art and culture, with historical evidence tracing back to the B.C. period, highlighted by thread fibers discovered in archaeological excavations. Today, the sewing industry in Georgia continues to thrive, thanks in part to the innovative contributions of local designers.

Kirakosian notes a growing trend where many foreign companies place orders for garments that are then sewn in Georgia before being exported. “Georgia’s strategic location makes it an ideal hub for logistics, allowing us to import products and easily export them to Europe and beyond,” she stated.

The upcoming exhibition presents an exciting opportunity for local entrepreneurs and tailors to connect directly with suppliers and factory representatives. This event will showcase the latest innovations in the industry, enabling attendees to explore samples and gain valuable insights without the need to travel abroad.

“I am thrilled that such an exhibition is being held in Georgia,” Kirakosian added. “It will foster connections and drive the growth of our local sewing industry.”
