Big Step From SASA for Artificial Intelligence Applications

SASA, one of Türkiye’s leading global polyester producers, has applied for membership to ZEKI (Zentrum für erlebbare Künstliche Intelligenz und Digitalisierung), the Research Centre for Experiential Artificial Intelligence and Digitalisation in Berlin, to benefit from artificial intelligence in all its systems and processes. The ZEKI delegation, led by scientist Prof Dr Şahin Albayrak, who is also the founder of the centre, visited SASA’s facilities in Adana and received information about production and management processes.

In January, the SASA delegation led by the Chairman of the Board of Directors İbrahim Erdemoğlu visited ZEKI in Berlin and took the first step of the process. During his visit to Adana, Prof Albayrak was accompanied by a team of scientists working in different fields at the centre. The delegation toured the entire facility, including SASA’s new investment PTA facilities, and was informed about the production processes in different areas.

After the visit, İbrahim Erdemoğlu and Prof Şahin Albayrak signed a protocol and SASA applied to become a member of the centre in Berlin. ZEKI, of which Germany’s world-renowned companies and public institutions are also members, focuses on the concrete applications of artificial intelligence in daily life.

SASA aims to use artificial intelligence in every field from A to Z

Within the framework of its cooperation with ZEKI, SASA plans to implement artificial intelligence applications in the coming years in numerous areas, from increasing efficiency in production processes to perfecting the conditions of its employees. The company will also work on the digital security of production processes, already largely based on automation.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of SASA İbrahim Erdemoğlu, who personally hosted the ZEKI delegation during the visit, stated that SASA uses the world’s most advanced production technologies and processes in its field, and that the PTA plant, which will be put into service in the coming period, is the best example of this.

Noting that they plan to fully digitalise their systems and processes and benefit from artificial intelligence in all possible areas through their cooperation with ZEKI, Erdemoğlu said: “Thus, we will be able to allocate more resources to innovation while increasing our production efficiency to the highest possible level. SASA will continue to invest in innovation and continuous development as it has done so far.”
