Interview with Mr. Chen Fajun, Chairman of the Board and the General Manager of CBL Embroidery Machinery Co. at ITCPE 2024
1. Mr. Chen, can you provide a brief overview of your journey and CBL’s core philosophy?
Mr. Chen Fajun: I started this business 30 years ago, and our factory has been operating for 20 years. Our fundamental concept is to produce embroidery machines that truly represent China. Our machines are designed to compete with top brands from Germany, Japan, and Korea. We position ourselves with the highest quality and price in China, emphasizing top performance in quality, reliability, engineering, design, and stability.
2. What makes CBL’s embroidery machines stand out in the market?
Our machines have a lifespan that is about twice that of our local competitors. While our prices are around 30% higher than local competitors, they are only about half the price of similar machines from Japan or Germany, yet we offer comparable quality. Continuous innovation and upgrades ensure our machines improve every year. Our target market is high-end customers who demand top performance, such as luxury brands requiring 1,200 SPM for detailed outputs.
3. Can you elaborate on the latest models you’ve introduced and their specific benefits?
We have introduced several models this year. Our new model ensures better output and less strain, targeting high-end users with a speed of 1,200 SPM. Another model, with a speed of 1,500 SPM, is designed for high efficiency, suitable for applications like mattresses, curtains, and saris. The third model specializes in thick yarn embroidery, suitable for materials like wooden yarn and silicone yarn, and is perfect for embroidering on leather, caps, and other items.
4. How does CBL prioritize quality and innovation in its products?
Quality is fundamental for every company, but for us, innovation is even more crucial. In the past 20 years, we started by replicating, but now we have our strong R&D team. Our machines integrate the best features from top brands in Germany, Japan, and Korea, allowing us to grow rapidly and stand out in the market. Innovation ensures our continuous improvement and relevance in the industry.
5. What is your outlook on the market for embroidery machines, particularly in emerging regions?
The market is evolving, with emerging regions demanding high-quality machines at competitive prices. We see significant potential in Africa and the Middle East due to their dynamic economic development and growing industries like infrastructure, automotive, and healthcare. We believe these regions will become important markets for technical fabrics and our products in the future.
