Türkiye Aims to Lead Global Textile Production Despite Challenges

Despite facing recent adversities including natural disasters and global crises, Türkiye’s textile industry maintains its ambition to become the world’s largest textile manufacturer. The country’s textile exports surged to $28.5 billion last year, demonstrating resilience amidst challenges.

At the 5th edition of the Texhibition Istanbul Fabric, Yarn, and Textile Accessories Fair held in Istanbul, Türkiye’s textile industry showcased its capabilities and determination to thrive. Organized by prominent Turkish industry bodies and attended by stakeholders from various countries, the event aimed to foster collaborations and highlight Türkiye’s position in the global textile market.

According to the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association (ITHIB), Türkiye ranks fifth in global textile exports, with annual exports exceeding $12 billion. It also holds the distinction of being the second-largest supplier to the EU. The industry’s success is attributed to its focus on high quality, innovation, and sustainability in production.

Despite recent challenges, Türkiye’s textile sector remains a powerhouse, leveraging its rich history and expertise in manufacturing to produce a diverse range of products. Additionally, its commitment to eco-friendly practices aligns with global environmental standards, enhancing its appeal to international markets.

Türkiye’s textile industry continues to forge ahead, aiming to solidify its position as a global leader in textile production despite the hurdles it faces.
