Japanese technical contemporary menswear brand Nanamica is planning to open its first outlet outside Japan in the SoHo district of Manhattan, New York.
Slated for unveiling on 23 August, the store is located at 125 Wooster Street in SoHo and is the first step in the label’s international expansion strategy targeting all global fashion hubs.
Nanamica New York is only the second store opening following the Nanamica Tokyo outlet in October 2019.
The New York location has been designed by Japanese architect Taichi Kuman to feel like a beach house. Shoppers can experience the ‘free and relaxed feeling of the seaside’ while the aesthetics remain true to Japanese sensibilities.
The store will also feature collections of its collaboration with the outerwear brand The North Face, named The North Face Purple Label.
A statement released by the company confirmed that the new store will set a precedent for other boutique locations across the world and will present the perfect amalgamation of high fashion and functionality.
Its message of ‘one ocean, all lands’ will resonate with the customers in New York.
