Cotton remains the most conventional and widely used natural fibre, favoured for its functional properties, such as high absorbency, strength, softness, and colour retention, which allow extensive end-uses.
Seeking opportunities in the dominant Asia-Pacific market, India – a major cotton producer – is once again set to make an impression at Yarn Expo Autumn, held from 27 to 29 August in Hall 8.2 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). With cotton also a strong focus for suppliers from other countries and regions, over 40 exhibitors will be in the India Pavilion, displaying their selected cotton, mélange, greige, fancy yarns, and more.
Organised by the reputable Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL), the India Pavilion will make a strong return to the fair this August, standing tall amongst the over 500 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions.
Speaking at the recent edition of Yarn Expo Spring, Mr Murali Balakrishna, Joint Director of The Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council, said: “The continued attendance of Indian suppliers is due to the effectiveness of Yarn Expo as a business platform and the attraction of the vast Chinese market. India’s textile industry chain and competitive advantage in quality and price have drawn many buyers to our booth, especially for India’s popular twisted cotton yarn. We are grateful for this international platform and the valuable opportunities to expand our exhibitors’ global presence.”
Featuring its largest group of exhibitors in 10 years, the India Pavilion’s 40-strong contingent will showcase their expertise across various yarn and fibre categories. The product scope covers pure cotton carding, pure cotton combing / compact spinning, viscose, blended yarn, synthetic yarn, recycled yarn, organic / BCI yarn, spandex yarn, polyester-cotton blends, and more.
